no root limit a lot of things, i just have this phone for 1 month and it's a great phone in almost all directions, now i just want a black theme (pure black to save battery and better for the eyes) and it's almost impossible, i tried Substratum & Andromeda but couldn't make it work, if the phone is rooted then there is no issue. And that's just one month, people buy Android for customization, without root it's very very limited!

exactly the thread i posted a comment on substratum & andromeda didn't work, it shows Connected but can't apply the theme and will have to redo all the steps after each reboot without root !

Customization ? Ever used custom ROM ? Wonder if stock is this much great then how will be los and remember you will NEVER get pie ! And even you can't root !

with funtouch os 4.5 beta status, you will see. you can find proof here in the nex threads!
buy the nex s and try to root it and if u have succes you are the hero of many vivo nex s users!
BBK and Vivo never, NEVER, allowed unlock bootloader, so never, NEVER, we can root at this phone. And they never, NEVER, release sourcecode.

OnePlus is ending their open source program... Xiaomi is the way to to for now. I'm loving my Xiaomi Mi Mix 3! Unlocked the boot loader and the source code is available.
Only vivo y51L/y21L/y51/y51A is unlockable at the moment, we got some ROMs but for rooting only cm based ROM can be rooted, nothing else
it appears we are stuck with the Vivo Nex S and Funtouch OS for now.
Current Change thread is at 1,137 ; don't believe growing it will make them react . I Think for Vivo , Userbase is less for users who Root and customize their phones .
Eventually less percentage of Android folks root their phones , if compared to earlier android releases.
And Company focus is already on the next smartphone.

Yeah otherwise they will evade from the market soon because anyone goes for uncommon handset with sd845 is got to be someone with lot of money extra or a tech enthusiast like in the case of pc gamers the second category will never buy it or will buy in hope that it will be released
Every competitive brand does this now anyone who does not evades it's survival of the fittest

I jumped ship from Vivo. I sold my Nex S for a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
I will end up doing the same thing, mine is brand new so I should be able to get a good price
