I really think this is a good idea and will sign it, but does it really help to develop ROM etc. for our device? Sorry for stupid question, but I don't know much about this case :)

I don't thik samsung looks on these petitions and what we want. The couldn't release even a stable 2.3.6 and they said that our phone it's too old and it's not high-end. But they release 4.1.2 for s advance, ace plus,mini2 and ace 2.. which are lower than our phone. I feel unrespected but we all know that after a period of time we must change our phones is order to have the newest softwere, even though i have my phone for about 10 months..

AW: [PETITION] Samsung release 2.3.6 Sources!!

Lol got my s+ for about 19 months and I don't think about changing it cause of our great devs.
And in this period of time there were lots of petition about our phone and none has been listend or accepted. So I don't think it will help

petitions are not generally useful . i have a similar proposition . if 100+ polite emails , nicely asking for what we want showing the advantages of the act , are sent then we might have a chance at it . samsung's customer support should care about it's customers wish , right ?
xda forum grasps a bit of a large community , which are potential or actual customers of samsung , and an act like releasing libs , sources and so on means a newsworthy xda post , especially for a popular low budget phone . this kind of acts is good marketing , and their cost is minimal , it's a win win situation . i mean look at Sony , they are doing this right now - supporting the community , and i personally think that my next phone should be an xperia .

sometimes , a bit of diplomacy would help a lot more than swearing your keyboard off at a gigantic corporation . just a proposition i hope you could get in consideration .

there are thousands of petitions out there and usually there are not many who are actually effective .

You can send million emails no use of it...

S+ is outdated phone, almost two years since releasing. There is no chance Samsung is going to do anything about it...

I they wanted to do something they would have done it so far...

I signed it but i dont think this will help us any further.

Also, it is weird that samsung keeps releasing buggy 2.3.6 firmware..
Are they that stupid?
