If you agree, please sign and spread the word.

Android is a open source operating system, but if there are no PUBLIC DRIVERS you cannot use it freely as it should be.

To be really open, drivers must be, at least, public, better if they have open specs or even better open source drivers.

At least every device should advertise "public drivers" "open spec drivers" "open source drivers" or "non public drivers" in order to inform customers, that will choose the more open ones - at least most concerned ones -

PS This petition has tools to improve it, feel free to add what you think would improve it. I tried to do it simple and clear.

Most people who purchase a smartphone have no idea what a driver is and probably don't care, so why should Google bother labelling.

Most of the drivers I suspect you are referring to are proprietery anyway and they cannot release them.

Most drivers are made by the manufacturers and tailored for their own devices. It is not up to google to release open source drivers, rather the manufacturer that makes the device you choose.
