I’m sure many of you are aware that the latest wave of phones released by HTC have a bootloader that has been locked tighter than any of their previous devices. While HTC does have a tool to unlock the bootloader, Verizon Wireless will not allow HTC to release it for any devices on their network.

It is extremely important that we all voice our concerns over this issue and show Verizon that is not okay for this to continue.

If you are a member of the android community, and especially if you have service through Verizon Wireless, please sign this petition and show your support. The ability for you to use your device the way you want to depends on it.

tl;dr If you ever want to own another HTC device on verizon and enjoy it as much as your inc, sign this.

So, how does one go about unlocking it? Or do we wait for methods from Developers in unlocking the bootloader through adb or some other way?

This is interesting.....because I still have not upgraded my phone yet :D

Woohoo, it worked. HTC allows unlocking of rezound on HTCdev now. No more carrier ID not supported!

Wow, I wonder if the online petition really had anything to do with it, or if HTC decided they weren't going to bend to the might Verizon?
