is there anything on that you need that isn't on the stock AOSP? no? then no need for custom roms.

this is a great tablet. especially once you overclock it. :p... although i probably should just play with it without it being overclocked first off.

It is a great tablet, thank god Asus didn't butcher android the way touchwiz, sense, motoblur...do. Could just be placebo, but deodexed roms seem to run smoother to me. I also like having power menu options, status bar options, navigation bar options, custom toggles and the little tweaks that make my galaxy nexus run so much better than stock. You can make the case that the extra features are not "needed", but they sure are convenient and make for a better experience. Isn't customization what android open source project is all about.

Quote from the Asus Global website, on the tab "download" choose "Android" as OS, then browse to "Utilities" and download the bootloader unlock tool, it dates from 22 may 2012:

Awesome, thanks for the heads up and thanks to everyone who supported the petition. Who knows if it actually helped or not, but sure didn't hurt.

Well, I'm only 342/1000.
I just ordered this online. Let's see if any mini-miracle happens between now and its arrival.
Whether I actually NEED root, or not is irrelevant. I hate paying MY MONEY to have someone tell me what I can and cannot do with my own stuff.
Isn't the TF300 kind of a "best in class" according to almost all recent reviews? It's a bit weird that there isn't more activity on it.
I'm usually too cheap to be one of the "early adopters". But apparently, at this price point, it's easy to come in early.
Good luck to us :)

It arrived this morning. LOL... I barely got it charged, and headed here to see current status. I guess the "mini-miracle" happened. It's nice when stuff isn't always "the hard way" sometimes... isn't it?

So... who has a guesstimate as to when CM9 will get ported?

Has anyone been able to use the TF200's roms onto the TF300? This is really important because I might switch over from the TF200 to the TF300 this weekend

No thats a bad idea, there will be custom roms now the bootloader has been unlocked so you'll just have to wait a little.

Not even close to the scale of my attack :) you do realize my attack had them agree to unlock future tablets right? Because it was a PR nightmare for them they got social media raped not attacked XD now my next target is the whole mobile industry and carriers I'm in the process of writing it and figuring out what to tweet... As 160 characters is not much for a social attack against like 8 manufacturers....... Also it will be petitioning congress and hopefully they can pass a bill that forces carriers or manufacturers to have no hold over the software on a device and requires them to release restore utilities.... Also would like to make a standard charger in the US and for manufacturers to not include them with phones most of us already have about 12 Lol no need to fill landfills maybe also throw in a petition on the US patent system because I'm sick of companies suing other companies over stupid IP

Brag, brag, brag. Asus already said they intended to unlock the Prime before you dreamed of your magnificent plan to unlock our tablets and free us from Asus' lockdown... *yawn*
