Phil's Recovery removed from Original Development?

Does anyone know why the thread was removed? I'm currently using his Recovery on my stock 4.4.2 rom with no problems but I don't want to use a discontinued recovery. Seems to be too much debate on which TWRP version works properly so I'm a little scared to make the jump.
