In download section post 2 it still says 7 oct. And a small mention that on 12.10 new Kernels were added. Also, on post 1 there is the reason for editing with name of last kernels added

Just checking old phone camera. Is it good enough Phil?

Looking at it closer, I find that with the n7000 menus could be a bit larger. In the touch version i will enlarge them a bit and add a toggle for it. Now, focusing on a better support for gooManager and other rom managers

Stock or custom, no problem at all. In fact flashing Philz from custom will remove old superuser and install latest SuperSu

oh so the zip version should be recommended for those who want to root their stock rom and get a safe kernel to stay on.

i would use the odin version for flashing through mobile odin if ive flashed a custom rom which had booted on cf root kernel. i think.
That way you have one more step: flash the zip root file in my signature, Method 1
I did not want to add root script and pad more files in the zImage since most people do prefer the recovery flashable solution. I could change my mind later, we'll see if recovery is still open to this method in JB

yes, people love to flash zips through recovery

when im booted into a custom rom sometimes i like to use MO and tar files of various kernels for comparison, pretty smooth change over without having to go into recovery and for a long time MO was considered the safest way , but then i havent used MO in a long time recently

i like to hear you mention JB stock, Phil

off topic, but from kernel perspective can you share your vision for it ? do you forsee anything significant ?

Anyone got this kernel to work with alliance rom(stock LRG modded rom)!?
It.just doesbt goes beyond the samsung logo..turbs black thereafter. .
However hydracore works just fine..
Edit:works on fresh rom installation..

You could wipe in recovery instead, no need to flash rom. Both kernels are safe.

Done

Links on post 2
Please take the time to read posts 1, 2 and 3 before flashing

Feel free to report issues or a successful flash.
At thank you only posters: I appreciate these posts, but just add to them the kernel version you flashed and you are happy with. That way, we know it works

Happy wipe /data in recovery :D

BUT, PLEASE, DO NOT BLAME ME EVER IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE. ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE ANY FLASH; EVEN IN SAMSUNG KIES

edit:

Feel free to request upload of new kernels. Just give me these info:

STOCK ICS (MOVISTAR CHILE)

-PDA: N7000UBLR3
-PHONE: N7000UBLR1 (Baseband version)
-CSC:N7000TFGLR2
-Build info: Fri Jul 13 19:42:51 KST 2012

-Kernel version: 3.0.15-N7000UBLR3-CL890184
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 13 20:10:47 KST 2012
-Build number: IMM76D.UBLR3

Not sure if PhilZ-cwm6-UBLR3-PSN-2.7-signed coud be the right file due with CSC or something else.
Can I still use KIES/OTA in future since I'm not so familiar with Odin yet?

Other questions. After root, can I still unlock the simcard to use phone elsewhere (providers/country) or I must do it before setting the full root/safe kernel? What can I do to use my phone in other specific country like Argentina next year?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my rusted english and noob questions.
