The kernel 3.5 is exactly the same as for the 2.7
Only thing that changes is the CWM version.

If you do want a newer kernel, you might have a look at the different xxls7 roms.
Just make sure that your rom and kernel versions correspond and you should be ok

oh, and always read and follow the installation instructions in the openingsposts.:highfive:

I'm experiencing the following MAJOR issues on 3.1 and 3.5:
In recovery, rebooting takes more than 5 minutes each time.
Flashing any zip leads to the flashing process pausing for about 5 minutes (for example the text is stuck at 'Unmounting System') before rebooting seemingly before the zip has flashed. Upon further investigation, I found out the zip didn't flash. This means, a) Im out of recovery, b) it takes a long time and, most importantly, c) THE ZIP DOES NOT FLASH. ie I can't flash anything.
Backing up also causes this pause and reboot, and when I try to restore it, it says 'MD5 mismatch'.
Weirdly I could flash the kernels in recovery.
How would I fix this?
I have tried wiping cache and Dalvik cache, flashing both kernels using recovery and mobile odin, changing roms, all to no avail.
FYI I was running JZO54k xxls7 then ultimate xxls7 v3 then ultimate xxls7 v4, all flashed by going back to stock prerooted gb kj1

Yep! Tremendous vibrations, followed by freezing and/or a message
along the lines of "unfortunately blah blah has stopped" Pretty sure it's JB ROM related.

Yes it happens when apps force close.. nothing to do with the kernel :)

Even the LSJ leak is a bit unstable for daily use. Robust, but not that great for daily, mainly freeze on unlock

I've got a question: Has anybody ever experienced any kind of SOD problems with this kernel? Last Thursday I got my Note back from the service center. The first thing I did was installing the XXLRW SFR Rom (4.0.4) along with the corresponding PhilZ kernel. Now the latest version released on November 19 is installed. During the six days I have been using my device again I have experienced at least 5 SODs and now I'm wondering what could be the reason for this.
same here. I am on LRT and updated kernel to 3.5. and within two days there are two random reboots

ask for Dualboot

Dear Phil,

our Master of Dualboot Chuandinh has stopped his developement because he don´t use a Note anymore :crying:
Is there a very little chance for our Dualboot community to ask you to make your new Kernels also a Dualboot Version as well, like the new xxls7 or xxlsa???

PLEASE!!!

If you´re interested to do it, here is the Thread of Chuandinh with all Infos and Sources:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748588

also a lot of people in my german forum, where I have a Dualboot Thread, would be very very happy if you would do it :fingers-crossed:

Please think about it,
and it´s of course also ok if you say no ;)

Best Wishes
hara
