Hmm, I tried to flash PA by Utacka and Asylum Phoenix by Chas with the LSA 3.71 kernel. I got a error 7 during the flashing process. Doing the same with LRT 3.71 worked like charm.

I'd say stop patching the brick bug on JB kernels, and just include your amazingly wonderful CWM ;)

Cheers, Markus
Another useless conclusion: that error is caused by update-binary in their package not compatible with JB. No issues on ICS of course. Ask them to fix their ROM script and remove assert command until there is a new update-binary

Germany has latest LRT, not LRQ, why not update to your official firmware?

I'll remove assert from the scripts and give it a try tomorrow. I'll report to the ROM devs if it fixes the issues.

Cheers, Markus

@rraaka Re. MTP. Any joy with unpatched kernel?

ok, i admit im a coward

it IS safe isnt it to flash it, right ? we just dont wipe on it right ? i mean ive sailed for days on stock iCS before, even CF root kernels.

whats your experience in comparison to patched 3.71 ? MTP working ? did you flash other roms from it ?

Yes, safe to flash. But don't wipe or flash ROM's with it just yet. ( If you did, the worst that could happen is the equivalent of a wipe on stock ICS - and Samsung believes that to be safe. Entropy still has his doubts...)
Free RAM seems to increase after flashing! Phil thinks it is a placebo. Should be interesting to hear from other users. I have no MTP issues with either version. Try a rear USB port and unplug then replug if you still have problems.
You can safely flash back to patched version later if you like.

Amazingly, free RAM increases by about 200mb after flashing! Phil thinks it is a placebo. Should be interesting to hear from other users. I have no MTP issues with either version. Try a rear USB port and unplug then replug if you still have problems.
You can safely flash back to patched version later if you like, and Ram gain will still be there!

my ram doesnt bother me , i hover around 650 - 725 when im busy with my phone, no reboots or crashes.

remember not to check just after a reboot which is not really indicative

just MTP is really weird....even now ..... i can see just one sub- folder within main folders, for example i have a folder named 412 and i see just ls7 stuff but i cant see the LSA folder :cyclops: but i can copy into the 412 folder
everything fine with external sd though

if i use usb switcher i can see all the folders and sub folders , some with a dot to start with as you had mentioned. in booted up android i have no problem viewing all files and editing through file managers.

i did clean installation, very clean

im on the latest 3.71, my build version says JZO54K.N7000XXLSA

Sorry for that. i took back the satement.
This is a completely inaccurate statement - dont listen to him...he didnt even read your post...or this thread...and the header is showing the most recent...there are many kernels for many different FW supported in this thread....so why dont you read before putting someone down.

Thank you for the confirmation. As I said, I do not expect it to be more than a placebo temp effect. Patching JB doesn't affect stability at all in my tests

You can wipe because cwm6 is safe. Only risk is when flashing zip files
