Somewhere in Oz...
Some of u may be wondering how did Phil3759 get involved in the Note community, considering he doesn't even own one? As it turns out it was because of me:eek: I discovered that Phils rooting method from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794 also worked perfectly on the N7000! So I started this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841288 and alerted Dr Ketan. He subsequently changed easy method in his rooting guide from "flash custom kernel thru Odin and use Triangle Away" to Phil3759's flash single file from stock ICS recovery method. The whole thing evolved from there.......

@Phil3759. I can't thank you enough for what you have done for us Note users. FINALLY we have what most of us have always wanted! Easy root, bug-free SAFE kernel (because it's stock with only MMC_CAP_ERASE disabled) and safe CWM recovery with backup and bootanimation features:D
Thanks again mate:good:

Why you need to post this here?
@all
Please don't ask/describe here anything which is not related to this kernel. such posting will be consider offending and will be reported to moderator, which i don't like really.

Will it have touch recovery?

Yes

PS: thanks to all who helped porting this to the Note, include shoey63 feedbacks and support, and mainly dr.ketan who offered a valuable support. I would have never released the Note if he did not offer to continue the support in this thread. I just would not have the time and possibility (without a phone) to maintain any support. With his help, I can only stick to specific issues

Yay! As someone one not interested in OC and always looking for the best battery life, I've been looking forward to a nice, safe Stock kernel. Thanks :good::laugh:

CWM 6.0.1.4 Touch version ready for release

Good news,
I managed, thanks to the great support from gweedo767 and talustus (credits will be written later), to port cwm6 touch to the i9100

This is the stock CWM 6.0.1.4 with only added the touch code from Siyah repository

I attach here a temporary pre-release, tagged with some ui_prints that I will remove in final build if it is ok

It should work on the i9100, i777 and the N7000, with maybe wired too big characters on the note that I will fix later when I release a specific version for the N7000

Please try all functions, except flashing update.zip files if you are not on a safe kernel. If you are on my PhilZ-cwm6 kernel or any other safe kernel, you can also flash zip files safely

Enough said, try it and report please, include nandroid backup.

I already tested it on my phone, of course

Flashed latest CWM & did nandroid backup successfully (LRT). No issues.
Love the new functions (touch & vibrations) and the new UI.
Thanks.
