Hi Phil. Just checked out new Cm 10 kernel (using your special backup and restore menu of course) It's now semi touch. Seems they have been reading you github:) I notice they have system automatically unmounted. I remember Entropy posting some time ago that he implemented this to make it easier to /format/system when there are mild corruption issues. Do you think it would be a worthwhile feature to add to your kernel?
Edit. And Cache too for that matter. (Data is already unmounted)

I do not see why I would altrer these stock settings. When you format a partition you need to unmount it first in any case. Now I actually mount system to read settings on start and I do not unmount it after that. Not sure I should or why I would do it...

Yes of course. Need to read settings. Thought it might solve "unable to unmount" problems some users have from time to time. Better leave it then.

which one do I download?

greetings! I'm so sorry if this was asked before or that this is obvious, but I just wanted to confirm on the procedure to root my note that I just bought, since I read other threads in this forum regarding unsafe kernels and 'do not wipe' when flashing, etc.
anyway, I am on the stock ICS rom (I think, haven't receive my phone yet);

anyway, if I do the above steps, will I get root? and kernel with CMW. and this kernel is safe I assume. Also, if I need to flash a custom rom, is it ok to do a full wipe if I keep this kernel?

thank you so much in advance!! I just want to be sure before I jump into the fire.

btw, I left out the odin method that was described as I thought this one looked much simpler.
Hello,

finally got a hold of my Note. so please help me out here. I'm a bit confused as to which one to download. here's my kernel info:
kernel version:
3.0.15-N7000ZSLPF-CL558430
Baseband version:
N7000XXLR1

do I look at the code right before -CL558430 which would be SLPF ? then I would download this one: PhilZ-cwm6-ZSLPF-OZS-v2.7 ? this was the only SLPF to choose from.

thank you in advance! just want to make sure so I don't brick this thing.

After I used xxLSC v.3.73, 3.75 with exFat for external SD. The stock gallory, music player and video player do not show media files from external SD. So, any got problem like this? How to fix?

Exfat support in recovery for now only reads from an exfat card. It wont alter it.

Just flash your DXLR5 V2.7 to the lastest philz v3.7.5 (philz kernel interchangeable) every thing should be, fine just like what I did yesterday :) are you from Indonesia too?

No. I am from Singapore.

So the 3.7.5 is not specific to certain version of our rom?

When it comes to Philz ICS kernels, it's a case of any of his versions works with any ICS build, any country, any region, any CSC. No one has tested Philz kernels more than me. If you have doubts, do a nandroid backup first before flashing. And if I am wrong, do a restore:thumbup:
