Has anybody tried this? Apparently it helps a great deal. But, not too sure if it would work on the HTC DHD.

Ya it looks Funny but, on the Contrary it's detachable. And, the Pics You can click using them are amazing. I ordered a cheaper one from lightake.com

Hmm, now you got me interested.....make a LOT of difference?

Might even think about it as i'm always taking pics when i'm out fishing, or out with Daughter and family etc and my Staffy Dog!
