Hello friends!

The pictures from this thread are edited? I got good pictures with my Mate 10 Pro but sometimes there is a lot of noise in Auto mode. Anybody else has this problem with noise in pictures?

Hello, here are my two cents about this camera:

I jumped one week ago to this Mate 10 pro from a 950XL. Well, the camera gave me a really hard time. The oil painting effect is really boring and unnatural (I could not even shot my syster blowing her birthday candels in low light, getting only a orang-ish mash for her face). I prefer when there is detail even with some noise to the photo like the 950XL and any other camera do.
Hopefully I found it was pretty easy to just shoot at raw format and edit it with Adobe Lightroom directly on the phone, or on the PC for the really good shots. The auto mode will do to share some common shots to social media with low quality upload, but so far, the jpeg conversion process is really bad.
Nonetheless the sensor is clean and the raw shots are great, even in low light (and even if I would have expected a bigger jump from my 2 years old Lumia).
I know it's a trend to have this over smoothing effect because people prefer drawings than the real world (just look at this embellishment setting with the front camera!) but it would have been really cool to have the possibility to deactivate this.

At least, the autofocus is quick and the shots are taken really quickly, the 950XL was a real pain at this point.

Agree with you fully. Don't like it for me too.
You can try FreeDCam app also, there you can change level of the denoise method.

Question to Mate 10 (pro) owners

I see that the Mate 10 camera is getting some very good reviews by "pro reviewers", but gets bashed pretty hard by owners.
Starting to look for a replacement for my LG G6 and camera quality is very important to me.
Should I look elsewhere?

I just updated from 127 to 129 last week and I gotta say the camera keeps getting better. Huawei tends to put too much contrast sometimes in auto mode but that doesn't ruin the fun! You can always add the Google camera. Takes flat pics and look more natural but you do loose the AI.

There's more than one model of this device, I wish people would post which model they have when they say they have issues or photos exhibit oddities, when compared to some of the first posts here. Less information is not more folks.
