Hello everyone!

Place below some pictures I took with my A50. The phone is updated to the latest version available (November 2019).
I read this topic well, but I believe that the quality of the photos can vary a lot from model to model, regardless of software updates or not.

That picture is taken in daylight condition. I think is ok.

That is taken in the night, without light. Flash ON

https://ibb.co/XJ0PGf4

Same subject of the previous picture. NIGHT MODE

https://ibb.co/qp8DNbV

Pro mode with flash

https://ibb.co/zRDQpdF

Indoor picture with artificial light

https://ibb.co/HKdjZSQ

Other indoor picture, NIGHT MODE

I don't know what to think about the quality of my photos. Of course I am not a photographer, but they seem really poor even compared to some photos posted on the forum and in the various reviews.

I want to clarify that they have not been retouched, they are the files taken directly from the phone gallery.

What do you think?

I also tried to experiment with a photo app (A better camera) with very similar results.

Beyond the low quality of the photos already, could it be my model that has some problems?

Very bad. Would be interesting to compare to other a50's in low light. Have you tried google cam?

No I have only tried the "a better camera" application but I don't think that in my case the gcam can do miracles ... even if it improved very little the photos would still be bad.

I still think that some models have a camera worse than others given the results.

Bad quality

At november 2019, teh quality of the photos taken with A50 is bad. All photos have "watercolor effect" on its details.
Here is one I've taken days ago (look at the details, people 30 mts away): https:// ibb.co /MZfprqN
No details/poor detail, even in bright light.

Your A50 definitely has some issues.
I'm 100% sure about it.

I've used and tested A50 extensively and I still do.

My A50 takes much superior photos in your given lighting conditions.
Your daylight pictures seem to be ok with poor dynamic range, but in low light your A50 suffers drastically.
I've taken much better pictures in lowlight even without using nightmode.

A50 has one of the best night modes alongside Motorola under the budget.

• The isocell sensor on A50 indeed takes much more light than other budget devices due to which the lowlight performance is pretty good.
• It intakes so much light that the daylight photos are pretty bright, de-saturated and less contrasty than the competition thus giving a flat look.

Final thoughts :
Your sensor is faulty, get it replaced.
Interesting case though.

Edit : Samsung's Night mode isn't as great as Google's Night sight when there's absolutely no light !

The hardware is fine in the A50, the problem is the stock app.

Many great phones with great camera hardware have BAD stock camera apps. The problem with the A50 is the STOCK CAMERA APP mostly. Gcam does not do miracles and some other free apps can do most of what Gcam does......like Hedgecam2 which is free. The trick with Hedgecam is you have to use "Noise Reduction mode". That NR mode stacks several images........that's what GCAM does.. When using Hedgecam you have to turn off "sharpening" in the settings to get the best results, and you have to optimize the number of images to stack...a good starting point is about 7-10, and can go up to many more. More images stacked, the better noise reduction but takes longer and more risk of blur..
Many good flagships are absolutely GARBAGE in low light actually most of the best flagships are bad in low light.

Can you provide the best possible setting for Hedgecam

That was until now??*♂ the photo quality is really greate now
Why are you lying? It still shoots like crap calculator. Don't behave like sheep. That update just broke up even more the phone. And that camera quailty improvements is a total lie!

To be fair the quality has improved quite a bit since the time of most of the YouTube reviews about this phone, and I still haven't received the December update yet.

It's still not a GREAT camera, and the fact that we don't have GCam because of the Exynos processor is not good either, but it's NOT a crap calculator.

Haha what? It's fine when you're outside in the day (My Redmi Note 4X or Galaxy J5 2015 can take pictures same as this Siemens A50). But indoors, TV screens, monitors, etc. It shots like calculator. Also that night mode is just for flexing because it literally doesn't work

These two pictures were taken indoors with no Night mode. They are not insanely high quality pictures, but they're not that bad either and they certainly get the job done.
What i must agree on is that whether it's indoors or outdoors, the photos don't look like they were taken on a 24 MPX sensor at all, since it has huge problems resolving textures, like asphalt, leather, etc.

You can't recommend this phone because of its camera, that's for sure. There are better options in this price-range, but at least it's decent (it's not a calculator as you say), and the phone itself has great battery life and an AMOLED panel with really high quality. Those were the main selling points for me.

Yes, great battery life when you ultra debloat it, otherwise you have 4-6hrs SOT. i got 11 hrs SOT and after that "other stabiliser codes are applied" 650 MB crap I got about 10:20 hrs SOT. So how is it improved? Also I cannot disable GOS via adb after that update, why? Why proximity sensor isn't as reliable and fast as Galaxy J5's (2015)? I can continue if you want.

Btw those two things which you shot are fine because this is not that hard to shot, these things in indoor can shot my Galaxy J5 2015 too. Try harder things, oh or monitors in the night! Even in the day it looks like shot from Siemens A50. And what AMOLED display?? Haha I laughed hard. Yes, Galaxy A50 has got AMOLED but Yellowish! Why Mi 9T has better AMOLED display? Isn't Samsung the best at AMOLED displays? To be fare ok S series have got normal white AMOLED displays. But for this price it's ****!
