Say "cheese", then rate this thread to express how photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy A71 come out. A higher rating indicates that photos offer rich color (without over-saturating), sharp detail (with all subjects in-focus), and appropriate exposure (with even lighting).

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Few random from my a71. Just got it, photos seem good but sometimes they come out looking like I've sent them to snapseen for saturating and sharpness

I have the p30 Pro now. A71 Camera seems good but they are too sharp and processed not to my liking. P20 Pro better honestly

My P20 pro just destroys pictures in hdr situations, it's verry bad.
My old S8+ did better in Goode light with stock camera app, and destroys it in low light using Gcam.
Did you tested with Gcam on A71?

Yes I tested a71 with gcam I didn't try mamy ports but 1 or 2 were good but just used the stock app most of the time

I'm finding the quality to be worse than poor. Even taking a photo at 16MP and not the max 64MP you see awful smearing of detail on the images when looking at 100% scale, demonstrated in the attached image. The smearing is much worse at 64MP. This smearing artifacting is identical to the artifacting you see on Samsung 4K TVs when looking at SD or 720p content.

From this I would assume the main camera is in fact only 5-8MP and it's being upscaled to 16/64MP.

EDIT: I have not yet tried an alternative camera app. The poor results are straight from the default app. I will eventually try an alternative app incase the default app is adding extra postprocessing that cannot be disabled.

What are you talking about? The color temperature okay, the dynamic range and the edge sharpness very correct for main camera. The contrast is good, the colors are vivid and saturated. Noise reduction is also good, and the software seems to know when to fix images. Overall i mean , the default 16MP images are very good. So many tests praises, not by accident!
Of course, not this camera is the best in the market. Nevertheless good and more than enough even if you want to print on A4 paper or bigger. Everything what you wrote only just pixel war, nothing more.

I think the photos from this phone are quite good for the price point.

Photos are frameable. That's all a camera needs to be.

First Pics

Hell of a great camera. I came from a more expensive Oneplus 7 Pro. "Never Settle"??? More like "Never Again". Samsung kills it.
Depth and macro samples.
