Thankyou so much.I'm currently on Oxygen OS 9.0.9. I'm not a new custom rom User but still please help me with these queries:-
-Do i need to decrypted/encrypted to flash this ROM?
-Which twrp would you recommend? Official or any other name please?
-Any custom kernel for good battery backup?
-Do i need to flash any firmware?
Thankyou again.

1. Yes, make a backup of your data and go to wipe -> Format Data, reboot to recovery, wipe -> Advanced wipe -> Data and probably Internal storage (not sure about this one). Play with those options, always reboot to recovery in between. You con't do anything wrong. When TWRP doesn't ask you for a password anymore, you're decrypted.
2. Official can't decrypt. Use codeworkx (has a thread in here) or blu_spark (on GitHub).
3. My phone can run 24h or more and that's fine for me, so I don't need one and otherwise can't help you with that.
4. I think 9.0.6 or higher. It will stop flashing and tell you which version to get if you're below the required one.

Encrypted works perfect. Have tested myself.
For decryption you need to "format data" by pressing Yes in TWRP. Suggestion is stay encrypted as gives more security.
Suggestion #2: Decrypt once, if coming from any other base, example moving from say Android 8 to 9, 9 to 10. Then flash OOS again and Encrypt, then flash custom ROM and stay Encrypted.
CodeworkX only works for Q (Android version 10).
No custom Kernel is required. Battery runs more than 20-30 hours upon mediocre to a bit high usage. For very high usage, runs for around 14 hours. SOT or screen usage time (screen on-time) is usually 8 hours which is good.
If flashing Q, then you need 9.0.8/9 (9 preferred), else if on Android Pie (Version 9), then flash 9.0.8 to be better equipped.

To use a different ROM, you have to decrypt. However, the phone will force-encrypt itself again, so if you want encryption, only worry about backing up your data.

That's what I tried once, didn't work.

CodeworkX only works for Q (Android version 10).

Not even the beta firmware of Q is available.

Codeworkx made a version for 8.x and one for 9.x firmware.

Didn't know that. Thank you.

Didnt rewrite about backing up as was covered earlier.
Works for me perfectly. Maybe you can explain a bit more.
By Q, I meant Android 10 ROMs, as available now. Custom ones are there. CodeworkX (Daniel) is yet to give out one.
Welcome.

Welcome.

What you wrote about encryption was a bit unclear to me, so I wrote that.

Keeping encryption worked on the OnePlus 3, but not on the OnePlus 5, but I have to say, I only tried it once. To be on the safe side, let the phone encrypt with the ROM installed that you want to use, then you can't get stuck in a bootloop like I did.

Well, maybe I still don't understand the "only for Android 10" part. It runs on Pie firmware and AFAIK it can decrypt Pie. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Encryption works oob in almost all Q for OP5/T which is what I am aware of. Encryption via OOS is the safest, and that bootloop happens due to no format data or dirty flashing over any other ROM.

Yes, it can and also on Q. CodeworkX as of now. BluSpark doesn't work at all, is what I have faced, or gives weird issues later on.

Only on 10 I meant since OOS does not have Q for OP5/T yet, only custom ones.

No. It will create issues.
Thanks

I clean flashed it without wiping internal storage and it worked so fine.. "Stable as hell" as some user mentioned before.. I flashed open gapps, Magisk and edxposed and all are working fine without bugs, crashs or issues.. I will try to go even wilder and flash xXx no limit magisk module and see.. The only downside is that the rom is lacking smartbar and slim recent which were really cool in havoc 2.9

Agreed. All Q don't have SlimRecent and SmartNav anymore. Sad, but cannot be helped.

For Havoc OS 2.9:
- Black Notifications with WhatsApp work properly? Like for me (on MSX X) the message text is black on WhatsApp notification. Then I had to reboot the device to get it to fix.
- Call Record Option is there?
- I'm decrypted on MSM X. So, I don't have to format internal storage right?

I don't use WA, so cannot say, but looks like theme issue and launcher based. On TG I don't have that, as I used my own BG image and default theme.
For call recording, yes it is present and works fine.
If you are decrypted, then no, you don't have to format internal storage.

What's the diff between Pixel and AOSP interface style?

Unfortunately after trying to remove gapps and installing Nanodroid and MicroG, I encountered a series of problems that led eventually to wipe my device completely including the internal storage. I clean installed Havoc 3.0 but since then whenever I flash edxposed the device runs into bootloob.. I even tried Tai Chi but it also ends with bootloob.. Any idea what might be the cause?.. Do I need to flash a new boot image for example as it almost the only partition that wasn't wiped??
