Try this method,maybe works:

• boot to recovery
o reboot to bootloader
o reboot to recovery
• In TWRP, go to "Advanced" > "File Manager"
• In TWRP File Manager, go to /data/system folder
• Find and delete the following files:
Code:
locksettings.db-wal
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db

Reboot.Done

doesnt help. i reverted to Oreo and do all updates again - not asking for pin later.

Sorry this didn't work for the OP, but this was exactly what I needed! I've had an unusable phone for 2 days, and now I can finally use it. Thank you!

Hello all and happy new year.

A few questions, since I need to factory reset my U11. I have currently the rooted stock rom (Pie) and TWRP installed.

Can I do the factory reset from Android's setting menu?
And should I remove TWRP before doing the factory reset?
The Magisk root shouldn't be a problem, right?

The Magisk root shouldn't be a problem, right? if you want a stock device
flash ruu with Ruu sd method. This one erase all your data, twrp, system ecc.. restore stock recovery and stock rom

Thanks. I finally found the link to the Pie RUU for my single sim device (CID: HTC__034) which is not listed in the Google Spreadsheet.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81049583&postcount=2225

EDIT: Flashing the RUU worked fine and my device is running again. I had some strange bugs with Google Assistant crashing and trying to dial a number made the phone app crash. And the fingerprint sensor sometimes not working.

As said, it worked with the Pie RUU I found, I'm currently still debloating the device.

Only strange thing is that the security patch is from "1 July 2019", before it was from "1 August 2019".

Hello I wanted to ask step by step taken to install CleanSlate kernel on Pie .
can you have a fresh install with root, and TWRP from nandroid ?
Im rooted Magisk current ver. unlocked TWRP 3.4 ver. I'm bit confused on Decryption support on Pie TWRP Backup and restore, format Data (yes)option.
my Goal is to start fresh install Pie with Magisk Root, and TWRP .I may have caused issue with trying to flash various files in TWRP and failed from not able to access internal drive .
have Dual sim 128,6 variant what is simple way to factory reset without losing TWRP or Magisk ?
I did a nandroid backup in TWRP ticked all box's except cache options. saved on SD card. not sure it will work from TWRP

Encrypted backups are broken - DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE!!
Reboot recovery option doesn't work - device will only reboot to system (needs custom-built kernel to fix)
