I'd appreciate help with the build scripts as I have work and little time to work on the module at the moment.

The main focus when I was creating this module was to replicate the Pixel's features onto my Xiaomi Mi A1 since we only have pure stock features with the stock ROM. With this module, it adds more customization elements which makes the phone even better.

I'd also look into how to backup the icons and layouts of the homescreens in order to keep the settings intact. For now, I do that manually by replacing the Launcher through Root Explorer.

I can help you. I can write these changes for you (what I suggested if you have less time for this) and also make the build script. I'll get back to this this evening when I leave the office.

Thanks! This is greatly appreciated. GitHub sources are available in the OP if you want to do testing.

@joeyhuab
so i tried installing one of the modded google cameras from the link (tried more than one) and they just won't install ("app not installed" error)

Any idea if any of them on the page are armv7 compatible? Because i have a Nexux 7 2013 (Flo)

Those camera apps are only for 64bit processor devices.

Thats so true. But few launchers would be still manageable.

Found new fork and made a test magisk module for it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/pixel-2-launcher-modified-7x6-6x6-4x4-t3725881

(Supports config import / export !!)

For me paphonb's fork does not work at all. Force closes to some XML issues in logcat. It used to work, so dont know where the issue lurks. My phone is OP5T with open beta 5.
Shubys launcher works for me with no issues at all. But I am looking for new alternatives..

If you include more than one custom launcher, you can create a build script what downloads all the latest launchers around the net, so you dont have to watch out those versions.. I can help you with scripts or this module if you need some help.

I love your module! And this is one what I've been looking for. How to turn cheap phones to pixel :) And if there would not been this kind of module, I definitely would wrote one by myself.
Thanks for your good hard work.

One more feature request: Before upgrade (when user is updating module) it should backup launcher icon and homescreen databases.. so users wont lose their home screens.
I'm using this launchers variation now. I just unzip, replace launchers apk, and archive again, lol. This is by far the best variation I've used thus far. I've encountered no bugs thus far it is functioning flawlessly and many options, plus the backup and restore is one thing I've missed. I'd add this into pixel experience. If you will only add 2, Honestly I don't like choosing over another but this would replace shubbys in my book. Shubbys is great, but I've had many, many bugs with that over the course of development.

If anyone wants to test the latest version of the module, send me a PM and I'll send a link for testing.

New features should include:
- ability not to install a launcher from the module
- 2 versions of near-stock Pixel Launchers (paphonb's and amir's)
- 2 versions of custom Pixel Launchers (shubbyy's and whataudoinghere's)

    As a Mi A1 user, I was stuck with Stock Oreo 8.0.0 without Oreo custom ROMs when I first bought my device. Kernel sources weren't released at the time so I decided if I can cook up a Magisk module that can bring me the Pixel UI without the need to install that ROM. What I did is to search around the internet which lead me to downloading the Pixel 3 XL factory images and I have extracted the files mostly needed in the new Pixel 3 devices. I've decided to gather these files and compiled them all into a single Magisk Module. This module can be flashed with other devices on Nougat and above as well.

    FEATURES
    Code:
    * Different Pixel Launcher choices (Rootless Launcher, Lawnchair, Ruthless Launcher, Customized Pixel Launcher, stock Pixel Launcher)
    * Pixel Blue theme accent
    * Set Gboard theme to White BG with Pixel Blue accent
    * Adds Daydream VR support
    * Adds Digital Wellbeing in Settings app
    * Adds Gestures in Settings app (device dependent)
    * Adds Pixel alarms/media/ringtones/UI sounds
    * Adds Pixel Stand app
    * Enables Google Dialer's Call Screening (mileage may vary)
    * Enables Camera2 API support (find a working Modded Google Camera app [here](https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google*camera/))
    * Enables EIS support (device dependent)
    * Enables Google Live Earth + Live Data and Pixel exclusive wallpapers
    * Enables Night Light (device dependent)

    Not that my opinion matters ...

    And far be it from me to tell you how to do anything...

    But... Do like the windows mobile days... Release what works for you... Tell everyone to go spit(SUB: your favorite 4 letter word)

    This thread is an abortion of people who just don't effin read...
    Every answer anyone seeks is in the thread... You can't recover a bootloop... Don't mod your phone...

    There's a reason that disclaimer is at the top of every mod thread... At Your Own Risk means something... So does YMMV

    It can always work on every device but quentin2260's personal device as well... User Error is strong with this thread...
    I agree with this. I'll flesh out the mod for now and rework it from scratch then I'll add options within the installation for which mods to include to avoid issues with overlays. Once done, I'll bring back the module in the repo.

    Module updated to v3.0! Best release yet!
    - module now includes the latest versions of both launchers
    - uses Unity Installer functionality
    - allows users to choose which launcher they want to use via volume buttons

    I hope you guys would love the module now since you are given the chance to choose between Ruthless Launcher and paphonb's Modded Pixel 2 Launcher!
    Wipe cache/dalvik if you want to switch launchers.
    Flashing the zip a second time uninstalls the module.
