Ordered mine on 10/4. I was going to go with the smaller one but because it had the same tiny 2,700mAh battery as my current Nexus 5X and huge bezels I decided to go with the XL. I'm really hoping that the extra 820mAh isn't all taken up by the huge increase in resolution. If the battery life isn't any better than my Nexus 5X I'll probably return and get the regular Pixel 2.

I'm also hoping I can get used to the huge size but no high end phones are usable with one had anyways.

They are if you use pie control. As for the keyboard, my clumsy fingers can't one-hand any of them.

If the business has a location in your home state, it has to charge tax. Regardless if they are based in California, so as long it has an office or a warehouse in another state (ie Arizona), the person in Arizona will get charged tax. The only exception is Delware and I believe another state that does not charge sales tax on items.

You're absolutely right about that, i don't care what google is doing, i know other online retailers aren't doing that, and even though Amazon has a warehouse in AZ I absolutely never get taxed on anything I order from there.

So i'm hunting google down today, again, because to me, this ain't right, nor is it the same as any other online retail experience

In regards to sales tax. Arizona absolutely has sales tax. For online sales sales tax is based on the state that you're having the items delivered to, not the state that it comes from. Also keep in mind depending on which county you live in can also increase your sales tax. They may charge an additional percentage on top of the state tax. The only way around this is if the seller has a brick and mortar store in the state.

Also keep in mind that for online sales there's some states that don't tax until the item reaches a certain amount or is it a certain category.

I have a Note 8 in my cart on Amazon, a smn950f to be exact, 929.00 with no sales tax ready to go.

Everytime i call google i get the same bs answers which are
1) Do you have a diplomat passport?
2) do you have a tax-id?

no. they can give you the $$ for the trade in as google play store credit or they can deposit it to your bank acct.

sure pixel 2 come with better battery because nexus 5x come with 2gb ram and snapdragon 808 now pixel 2 come 4 gb ram and snapdragon 835
any new processor comes with improved battery consumption

The processor has very little impact on real world battery life. Screen resolution impacts battery life a lot. More than anything else by a large margin.

you are right but do not forget Pixel 2 comes with amoled which is very good for battery - nexus 5x lcd

AMOLED doesn't have a huge impact on battery life either. As I said before, the screen resolution has the biggest impact on battery life. Far more than anything else. The combination of an AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 835 SoC will help some but those things alone won't make a huge difference.

I placed my order Friday Oct. 6th but didn't receive email about the mini till yesterday and was becoming somewhat concerned. After last years fiasco I've told myself I'm just gonna be patient this year. So far, so good. That may change after I start seeing post of people receiving theirs though.

I placed order the same day they announced it, right after Live, and just received email days later. As long as you pre-order as per saying, you will be fine.

It's just a hold to make sure card has no problems. When it ships, you'll get charged for it. This is how some businesses do it. It's kind of like getting gas. Some gas stations put a hold of $1 and the price you filled but that $1 drops after a few days.

Click on the order number link in your order confirmation email. If it's still active, it will show the details including the last four numbers of your credit card.

That's normal. They place an authorization hold on your card immediately, and depending upon your bank/credit card company policies, it will eventually drop off after a few days. They will submit a finalized charge shortly before shipment which will actually post to your account in a day or two after they finalize the charge.
