edit the flash-all.bat file to remove the -w near the end of the text (leave just one space between the remaining words), save it, then reopen it to make sure the save took.
then, in the URL line while in the platform tools folder type CMD, hit enter, this should bring up a command prompt window

try this command from the command prompt:

flash-all

Let me know what happens
I'm using linux as you can see so it doesn't exists CMD but I'm doing every operation by terminal/command line

Have you tried: [email protected]:~/Desktop/platform-tools-aug$ ./flash-all (without the .sh) or is that required in linux?

not sure if there is a linux difference or what, but I think I have reached the end of my usefulness to you. Maybe another user familiar with linux would see something I don't since I've never used it.

I guess it's possible your device has a hardware issue, but I still think it's a procedural issue. Since I'm only familiar with fastboot, I'm not going to be much help.

I'm presuming you have already visited the "installation" section of the Guide thread, since you were posting there. Outside of that, I'm out of ideas for you my friend.

My apologies.

This looks like there is no space left on your hard drive.
I'd try 'df -h' in a shell. I'd bet you see nearly 100% in use where ever your home directory is mounted. If that's the case delete/or move some files...

My question has to do with performance upgrading from the Oreo factory image to the Pie factory image. (This is especially an issue for carriers that require a factory image - such as Verizon.) Running common apps (such as games), which image has the better performance - Oreo or Pie? (While I am running the Genymotion Pie Pixel 2 XL image currently, does it truly mirror the real-deal P2XL - or are there quirks present in one but not the other?)

While I don't "game" a lot, I don't recall noticing any profound performance differences between the Google Oreo and Pie factory images...

I do believe what is more important is if the apps or games you are concerned about are updated for Pie. If not, they very well may have issues until they are updated for the new OS.

My "go to" advice when asked about comparisons is for the user to update to Pie factory image, add nothing else, and try the apps and games you most commonly use, and see if there is any difference.

I don't believe there is anything stopping users from reverting back to 8x if they are not happy with 9x.

While this is not a definitive answer, I hope it helps your decision moving forward.

Good luck!

If you don't mind, report any significant results, and we'll know for the next users that asks :D

Just had the weirdest thing happen.

I was taking a pic, and the phone rebooted.

When it came back, the keyboard switched from a dark theme to a light theme, the clock went from the right side of the status bar to the left, and I lost sweep up to turn on display? Kernel issue?

Any ideas? @Badger50 @clothednblack or anyone else who might have seen/heard of this before?

TIA!

That's pretty wild my friend. I'm running the exact same setup as you, but have never had that happen. Likely just a glitch in the ever present Ghosts in the Machine! ??

As far as rebooting while taking a pic, that could be kernel related or script related. The other things changing/moving around, that sounds more paranormal than kernel. Never seen/heard anything like that. Maybe the script isn't fully compatible with the latest kernel? I think the kernel is newer than the latest script. Just my 2 cents

Thanks guys for the quick replies...

So it gets weirder.

I went ahead and flashed the dec factory image again, JUST in case.

All went well, until I installed EX 2.09. '

I'm stuck on the FINISHED INSTALLATION screen in EX, and It never gave me the options to set swipe to wake, double tap to sleep, etc...

I swear, I haven't kicked any bums or smacked any kids on the back of the head.....lately...

EX doesn't give us those options during the install any more, you have to open ex manager to add those. This all changed on the pixel. I've gotten stuck before, just went back to twrp and flashed it again

Okay, that makes sense about EX.

I haven't been paying attention this last few weeks, did something break with magisk 18? I am rooted when I flash 17.3, but when magisk updates, it starts acting wonky and some rooted apps work but "verify root" app says I'm not rooted?

Do I need to go back to bed and try again tomorrow?

Well, I'm on magisk 18, but also running DU Rom with unicorn blood kernel, nothing wonky here though.

Like Clothedinblack said, no issues here either with 18.0. I did have the Ex kernel installation freeze though the other day. I just rebooted back to twrp and flashed it again without issue. Better luck today my friend :good:

Yeah, not sure what I did wrong, wasn't tired, drunk, or high....

I think I'm good again. I had to give Magisk "grant" root privileges, then switch back to "prompt" and it started prompting when apps need root.

Me thinks it's time for a clean install ( -w intact) with January factory image, EX 2.10, and latest Magisk...

REALLY appreciate the help from you both! Thanks!

Yeah, I did the clean flash thing in November. Good to do it once in a while. And, you likely were drunk, tired, and high all at once. I know how you biker boys roll! :silly::laugh::silly::laugh:

Whatever happened also blew out ALL my Chrome desktop shortcuts too!

They all said "app not installed" when clicking on them, had to re-add them all from Chrome to the desktop again?

I musta seriously ticked off SOMEONE, somewhere! :p

New year, new gear! Clean factory install here I come.

That's pretty wild bro. I had the same type of thing last week while trying a different version of V4A. Had to dirty fastboot the factory image to get all my settings back to normal. Gotta love these toys from time to time
