There's no plastic on the Pixel 1 or 2... XL or otherwise so I don't know what you're even talking about. I'd actually prefer plastic so we can get wireless charging back.
My bad, glass.. And hell no on the plastic! It really makes a phone feel cheap. I love the metal the most, but, I would like wireless charging too, soooo, I could possibly live with a glass back. I guess ceramic might work too? Either way, it needs to feel premium. I'm not paying $800-900 to have a phone that feels cheap.

4 GByte RAM, single lens camera and a notch?
I had a good laugh.
(but I still hope for nice Pixel smartwatches)

...
It reminds me of how awesome and exciting android was in the past with all the nexus devices for example
The phones the last few years has been just meh..

Surely after over a decade of Android phones, Google doesn't think we're a bunch of iPhone fanboys who will buy a newer model 'because it's the new one'.

This 'prototype' doesn't appear to be that compelling of a reason to change devices.

What infuriates me the most is that it still hase only 4gig of Ram!

I am a heavy pokemon go and ingress player, and the amount of app realoding I have to deal with is just soo annoying!

No source, no data. Nothing.

People here are believing anything nowadays.

Get to your work. There is nothing to see.

Would take a credible source to believe anything nowadays. Even then, the final prototype will be very different.

That's not even the Google logo.
There's no way we can be certain but this could very well be an actual Google prototype. Check out this article, the logo visible in this 3xl picture is very similar to the logo on the back of last year's 2xl prototype:

Hmmmm, what to do. If this is real then my gut tells me to skip it because I really hate the design but then my next thought is what would I get instead? I've been getting a new flagship phone every year since 2011 and the thought of keeping a device for more than a year seems weird to me. I really really love getting updates every month and enjoy stock android much more than the third party stuff that gets added on top. But, if this notch is a real thing I might consider the Note or V40 even though losing monthly updates and stock android would be a huge deal to me. I just hate that notch so much I'm not sure I want to live with it. I really hope they don't do the notch because otherwise I'm 100% getting a Pixel 3 XL (have bought the Pixel XL, and currently own the Pixel 2 XL) but the notch will make me seriously consider another option.

That's a really deep notch... They can do better than that! Also, they REALLY need to ditch the plastic on the back of the phone. Seriously, it's beyond time. Still excited about it though lol.
No! Plastic is the best material on a phone! This is why we can't have nice things! Plastic can be easily replaced/removed, is RF transparent, and is compatible with wireless charging. It also absorbs more energy from an impact than glass or metal.

For all that, it's cheaper too.
