I have watched reviews of this phone i even bought one.. But part of me wants to return it back for an iOS device i know i know i said iOS. Is there any reason why i should keep it. I know iOS is like being in jail cannot do anything but in iOS 13 and dark mode and a few other things have almost won me over. How do you guy feel over the build quality vs iPhone. What do you think?

I am spending 1100 dollars for this phone this may be a bit stupid but it does not feel like a device worth that amount. The battery life is pretty good not the biggest one in the world. The iPhone display to me is much better.. the cameras on the iPhone I like the ultra wide lens .. I could go on but I really do like android but I believe Google could have done better.

I totally agree. I definitely don’t think it’s worth the asking price.

This phone should cost no more than $500 for 128GB version. Being an owner of all previous Pixel phones in the past, I'm very disappointed with what Google made this time. To be honest, Pixel phones always felt like a step behind devices in many aspects. Pixel 4 feels just like a subbar phone for current price right now. It's definitely not up for competition. But I'll buy and play with it for a short period of time in half a year or so for half price. Because this is what it's really worth!

Not sure why not liking the Pixel automatically restricts your choice to an iPhone? If you like Android but don't like the Pixel go for any one of the many available alternatives that have some of the same bits and bobs you like from the iPhone (more than likely better actually). All at a better price too - the advantages of an open platform and competition.

The asking price is ridiculous. $800 and they reduced and they took away some stuff and didn’t add what would have made this phone worth it. Removing the headphones as well as the unlimited high quality photo for google photo is one thing, but having such a tiny battery for a 90hz display that only works at a certain brightness with a display that isn’t bright to begin with is a slap in the face. This phone is one disappointment after another, all for $800.

Well stock android is pretty boring in itself in my opinion. I personally prefer iOS over stock android so I understand why one would go from pixel to iPhone if they want a “stock” experience. Maybe one UI or any other UI might be a bit too much for them.

Right, each to their own of course. I don't like iOS. But as far as decrying the Android stock experience goes, this forum is about a Pixel phone - pretty much renowned for how (nearly) stock it is. Makes you wonder why one would look at it if that was an issue.

Obviously being Android it needn't stay stock, unlike iOS ?.

You’re mistaken, Stock android isn’t an issue, everyone has different taste. I don’t think it’s bad, it’s just not my favorite. And I think that it resembles a lot of iOS especially with android 10 and it’s gestures navigation. When it comes to that iOS does it better.

So basically only those who love stock android should be on pixel forums. That makes a lot of sense.

I just returned an iPhone 11 pro.
I got a Pixel 4 through Google and the battery isn't horrible, but certainly isn't great. It's about the same to slightly worse than the Pixel 3 was.

I didn't want to go to the Pixel 4 XL, since I don't want a larger phone.

I got an iPhone 11 Pro through Verizon, since there aren't a lot of other options in reasonably sized phones. I had the iPhone for 2 days. Lots of little stuff was annoying. For example the navigation gestures. You generally swipe in from the left side to go back and it works well right until it doesn't. Occasionally you'll open something and the back gesture just doesn't work.

Email with my Gmail account and was delayed by about 30 mom on the built in mail app. Downloaded the Gmail app to get around that and email pushes properly on the app.

The built in calendar has no week view, which I find the most useful to get an overview of my week. Again it can be fixed by downloading the Google calendar app.

I had multiple instances of imessage refusing to send a message. I typed it and attempted to send it, the send button was unresponsive. Nothing happened until I backed out of the message and went back into it, then I could send it.

And of course the obvious, the home screen and lack of widgets. Missed having easily accessible info on the home screen.

The swiping to go back gesture on iOS is super annoying, I Totally agree. I think the back gesture in android 10 is better than that cause it’s more reliable and works pretty much 100% of the time.

But on my oneplus 7T, my issue was bringing up the recent apps. It would work 70% of the time and that was very annoying. That and data issues made me return the phone.
