I upgraded from P30 Pro to the Pixel 6 Pro and as far as I can say that, the camera for the normal user isn't that much better to upgrade only because of that.
Yes it is better, but if you only look at your pictures on the phone you will not see a big difference. On a 4K Television you see it but it is not that huge foor me.
In lower light that differnce I would say isn't even there. Maybe the Huawei was even better there.

I'd imagine the Pixel 7 will use the same camera set up as the Pixel 6, that the Google way.

I also think, I'm looking to replace my P30 PRO, it's very difficult to make a choice.

It does, the software is still being refined as its the first new lense they've had what 3yrs now

The Pixel 6 has new sensors, the lenses are pretty irreleavent when it comes to the software, that said i cant say the images are vastly different to the old Sony sensor that is in my Pixel 5.

What are you talking about pedantic? The sensor collects the light and records the image, the lens just projects it on to the sensor, the sensor in the Pixel 6 series is made by Samsung, in the Pixel 5 and down was made by Sony, you clearly have no idea what you are on about if you think the lens and the sensor are the same thing and/or do the same job.

Have i got a P6P? You've not taken much interest in this thread have you

No, no i don't, i have a Pixel 6 Pro, my wife has a Pixel 6 and I have posted many photos taken with my phone in this thread.

If i clearly knew what you meant i wouldn't have even brought it up, life over the last 2 and a half years has been hard enough for everyone without childish spats over semantics but you are your own man/woman so by all means you believe what you want, it is no skin of my nose.

There is no such word as lense seeing as you wish to continue this foolishness. it is either Lens or Lenses.

OMG, I'll stick to that pedantic comment, very much so that or you are on the spectrum being so obtuse as its clear what I was referring too..........its the first new one the Pixel has had in 3 YEARS

I'm still impressed how the P6P handles low light before resorting to night mode trickery. Noise is creeping in but its still a usable image although being deep in to super res might contribute to that i guess.
