As a Pixel 6 user, I don't like it. The compromises aren't worth the $150 less. It doesn't even have the A-Series touches (headphone jack, rear-fingerprint, etc.) like the 5a did. Sure, it's a solid phone, but if you're buying a phone for more than a year, it's definitely worth the extra 33%. Then again people buy the iPhone SE and that's literally the iPhone 8 with the A15.

And is an especially bad device for Indian audience. 6A is the first pixel that we are getting after 4a. and yet with 60hz screen and subpar specs.

Me from previous years would have complained, because obviously we have much better phones for cheaper but I can't understand how, out of all these phone companies which keep popping up every day, only 3 seem to care about compact phones (Samsung, Apple, Google).
I wanted to gift my father a new phone, he's been using a Poco F1 and he hates every phone that is larger than that.
What are the options now? Spend more to get the S21/22 or the iPhone 12/13 or just get the Pixel 6a because there are no other options.
Personally, having changed from a Poco X2 to an S22, at this point, I feel like larger phones are overrated.

In conclusion, I'm not saying the 6a is good, definitely not at that price, but it's the only one that matches the requirement.

I went to Best Buy today to look at the phone. The size is perfect. I'm trading in my Pixel 6 which I hate for the 6a and they are giving me a $250 trade-in. So for 2 bills I get the phone I want not the behemoth that I have now. Your father will love it, it's slimmer and noticeably smaller in the hand. I'd get it from Google but they don't offer a trade in for the P6.

I'm buying it to upgrade my 4a 5g. Literally don't care about the bells and whistles. It's a high end budget phone.

I think they should've put Gorilla glass Victus or 5 and a glass back panel cause they both are very common in all mid-range phones! I ordered this phone only for the Camera because I love Gcam...

From everything I have seen and from every Jerryrig video, iterations of Gorilla Glass are meh at best. Glass is glass and it will break and it will scratch at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7. Shatter resistance improvements are marginal at best. Those fancy videos that Corning puts out are framed in the most ideal way possible. It's like taking a tall glass and slamming it on the table. It won't break because the bottom of the glass is reinforced. Take that same glass and slam it down on the lip where it is thinnest and it will shatter.

I just always get a glass screen protector and a case. Better safe than sorry and better have a phone than be without for days to weeks because of repairs.

I thought I would love the front thumb print scanner... but it is kind of annoying to have to press the power button first and then scan. On the bright side, there are fewer accidental triggers. But I dont know if that is worth it. Also, I miss the 3.5 headphone jack. :-(

Other than those things, it seems pretty similar to the 5a to me. Roughly the same battery drain. I am sure I will see some performance gain eventually. Just not noticing it yet.

I hear what you're saying. I had the Pixel 4XL and face unlock was amazing. I literally only had to pick up the phone and it would detect my face almost immediately.

You mentioned that it's annoying to have to press the power button first and then scan finger. You could set the phone to detect when you pick up or tap/touch the phone. That way, screen turns on and you can scan your finger without having to press the power button.

Update... this phone is in need of serious updates. I have lots of apps going non responsive and even the google assistant struggles. 5G is really bad and the GPS is occasionally confused. All around, I almost want to go back to my 5a.

The 6a feels cheap. I like the size of it, I don't care about 60 vs 90+ refresh rate, I wish finger print sensor was still on the back. The 6 and 6 pro feel great in the hand.

If I was going to buy a Pixel #A device, I'd get the 5A or 4A 5G. I wouldn't shell out for a 6a that's new. If I was to get a 6A, I'd wait a year and buy it dumb cheap used

Traded in my behemoth P6 (not even the pro) and will not look back. This feels great in the hand even with a minimal case which I use when I'm off the carpet of my home. The only thing that compares to this is the P5 which I never should have sold as quickly as I did. But I'm enjoying the P6a experience as of now.

Honestly it depends on what youre coming from. This is worlds more premium feeling vs the 3a and 4a. Never held the 4a 5g or 5a so I cant speak to those. I was also intending on just picking up a used 5a as I rarely ever buy the newest phone but the $300 trade in of my 3a + free buds was too good to pass up. The 3a XL was $479 new in 2019 and its no where near this nice or powerful.

Just my $.02 anyway

I can't do that unfortunately. BB at $250 with free buds for a cracked P6 is still pretty good.
