Can i get a notification light to blink if i root this phone?

AFAIK the Pixel 7 doesn't have a notification LED. Most contemporary smartphones don't and haven't for the past 5+ years.

I can do it with an app from google play, called aodnotify. I was just wondering if i rooted the phone anyway, maybe i could get it without the app.

Although not a root app, I recommend dynamicspot. It has a free version, simulates Apples' Dynamic Island, and does not use up a lot of screen real estate.

Rom evolution x has this feature built-in. And flash rom doesn't need root

that app has a completly different purpose then for example aodnitify.

aodNotify could be great if the system wasn't killing its accessibility service all the time.
Any tips on this?
I'm only using it for turning off AoD if no notifications present.
And sometimes I can't wake the screen at all by just tapping. Only with the switch.

The FAQ even says to completely disable it in the accessibility options. But without that turned on the AoD switching doesn't work at all.

Why simply every manufacturer not using screen's small part to illuminate and use like an LED notification ? the biggest example of bad piece of design is Nothing phone where they can use the OLED screen area to lit up and act like an LED instead of useless single colour notification light at the back.

I have aodnotify set around my front camera cutout and it works perfectly. No need for extra LED hardware on the front panel, and there are many configurations you can setup (camera circle, outside of display, etc) with that app.
Remember, the thinner our phones get, the more hardware gets taken out and features we lose. Also, OEM's are constantly trying to save $ - and let's be real: building a "perfect" phone hurts long term sales. That's why they take practical things like a swappable battery and expanded storage (sd card) away from us. They could build phones that could last up to 10 years for most of us, but, again: sales. They want us buying new phones every 2 years. It's all about those $$$ bills, not customer satisfaction.
