You patched a patched APK? The original patched APK works fine. Makes me wonder if something else was slipped in. On closer inspection things look good.

Are you using unmodified unrooted 7.0 January patch? When I used iMarbot's apk it would give me the "package conflicts with existing package" because it would not install over the existing AOSP dialer. I know his apk works fine on Moto Z 6.0.1 but the issue occurs with 7.0

Yes, stock unrooted.

I didn't dig too deep, but all I noticed is you changed the package name in the manifest. Is that all?

That's exactly it! I could not get his to install no matter what I did. He suggested changing the package name. Then it worked! I do not know how it lost 4MB in the process though!

Mods please delete this thread. Apk is redundant. Original ApK linked above finally installed just fine on my device after a few days. No need for my modded APK. Oversight on my part.

Hmmm, this got me thinking. I wonder if I could trick Google assistant to work from a secondary Google app. Will attempt tomorrow.

Did you literally just modify one thing?

Yes, just modify the package name. It will allow two instances of the same app it seems.
