With all the talk about how Google is changing their focus to be more mainstream, has there been any mention if they will still be releasing the "factory" images for any major updates/security patches like they have in the past for Nexus devices? I could not find any information about this.

No, no news yet. I think there's a chance they won't because this isn't a Nexus. Who knows though.

Well I saw on https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

They might because if you see the Google Pixel C factory images are there,
I assume they would release them for the Pixel phones same place when released
Remember not released yet or launched why would files be in public yet.

I know they won't be there now but usually stuff like this leaks or Google confirms now that the phone has "launched". Guess I'll wait until release.

Pixel device Factory Images should still be available, if going by precedent.

Plus since Google doesn't have a Physical repair center and Pixel owners most likely will not be able to get support from local provider: It would be very wise to allow Pixel owners the ability/convenience to 'Factory Update refresh'
