I've recently run into very annoying behavior with my phone.
If I have an app open (let's say my phone app) and the screen times out and eventually locks, when I go to unlock the phone I'm greeted with the home screen. It does not return to the open app as I would normally expect. In the case of the phone app if I am actively on a call it will show a bubble for the phone controls on my home screen after unlock since the app is still in use.
TLDR:
1) Open phone app
2) screen times out and locks
3) unlock goes to home screen, not open app
To be clear, I would expect the unlock to go directly back to the app and screen I was using before the phone locked.
I am on Android 10 (QP1A.191005.007.A1). Timing wise I'm not certain but it may have coincided with the latest security patch in October. I also added VMWare Workspace One around this time to get access to work email.
I have started the phone in safe mode to see if this would result in different behavior but I got the same result.
Has anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing it? This is making the phone a pain to use since I need to renavigate back to the app I was using every time I unlock my phone. It makes managing phone calls a pain.
