Are you using the firmware for 3.14.401? Did you relock the bootlader? Did you run the fastboot oem rebootRUU command before flashing?Hello All,
I have a liitle problem whem trying to update with this.
My HOX has cidnum: HTC__E11
and stock recovery
2.17.401.2
bootloader unlocked
my hboot is currently 1.12 is that normal?
flashing the provided zip gives me:
C:\fastboot>fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
sending 'zip' (13033 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.647s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
finished. total time: 2.263s
any clues or suggestions? or is this caused by the unlocked bootloader

You can reboot to fastboot, then unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and finally flash jb rom boot.img and then rom,zip via CWM.Thank alot mate that did the trick.
Now the phone shows a
green bar under the HTC logo. should I now just use fastboot reboot? or do I have to wait for something

Not completely stock. Which JB rom did you flash? Depending on which rom you flashed, the devs have probably made some tweaks to their rom. Yes the initial setup can take some time. Thanks again. If im correct phone is now completly stock 4.1.1 right. rebooting in to android is taking a few minutes already but i assume that is normal due to the update?

I'm still not fortunate enough to be able to flash any of these due to cid incompatibility issues, but apparently the 1.28 hboot has fixed some issues encountered on 1.23 (apparently wifi is better). Most of those custom roms run just fine on 1.23, but you can flash the new 1.28 without any problems. So this new firmware can be flashed over the current crop of JB Custom ROM's? (InsertCoin, ARHD, OrDroid etc.?) Those all say Firmware 1.28, so can this just "be done" and with actual benefits?
Thanks in advance
You can access sd card via CWM Recovery.ok i did not flash a custom rom so thats the problem i think?
I assumed that the update in this file was the OTA update to stock 4.1.1 just will find me a custom rom i like then
but how will i get that on my sdcard while my phone isnt in android
(sorry for the noob questions)
Not via ruu on the current hboot. You can however restore to a backup of a rom that you have (together with the boot.img for the rom)
To flash you need to run the following commands: (It is advised to take a backup of your data and important files on your sd card)Woah, thank you. How exactly do I apply that..? I really just need to upgrade my hboot so I can use JB ROMs.
Sweet, How can I cut firmware.zip from ota? Ill share with you.
