Play Store "link this device" option?

So in the frenzy of ordering a Nexus 4, I may have checked said option, and according to Google, it says the device will be pre-loaded with my name and email, and I just need the password to activate it...but I can log in with a different GMail if I want to and continue with the setup, right? I had the phone delivered today, but don't want to open it yet and find out.
