Worked for me except im using SuperSu.apk

My commands:
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system /system
chmod 761 /system/xbin/su
mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/xsu
mv /system/app/SuperSU.apk /system/app/XSuperSU.apk

Guys, if you rename the file and directory......I am assuming that you will lose root and will not be able to rename back to original names and get root back, right?

Can you elaborate? I have lollipop and I don't have such "add/remove apps".

You open Root Cloak, select "Add/Remove Apps", then it will bring up a list of apps (but for whatever reason Vue isn't in there), then hit the menu button on the top right, select "Add Custom App", and type in what I said to type earlier

Thanks for the help - still isn't working for me (and this is exactly what I was doing before) on either my Nexus 7 or Moto Maxx. I wonder if it has something to do with CM13 or if there's some weird setting I don't have activated on Xposed or Rootcloak.

maybe you need to go into your data/app folder, Vue might be named something different on your device

12gage, thanx for posting the instructions.... very helpful. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me. I am using a android media player from ebay that I am trying to use as my media/ipTV player. Until Sony fixes this issue, I think I have to give up and go with Slingtv.

Playstation Vue

I have been using Playstation Vue with both the Fire TV and the Firestick. I have no real problems other that not all apps will work with external subsciptions i.e. Acorn tv. I have to use my Roku for that Amazon doesn't recognize an Acorn membership unless you bought it from them. The Playstation Vue app is perfect just remember to exit the app to ensure you don't continue to download. I just go back to the home screen and that does the trick. I love Playstation vue and highly recommend it especially if you like sports. I have the Core option.

Renaming /system/xbin/su and /system/app/Superuser.apk worked. I can now run PS Vue on my rooted FTV, confirming it's just looking for those files.

    Hi,

How did you change /system/xbin/su from read-only? I've been trying to set permissions or just rename using mv but it's not working.

    EDIT:

got it working now with the following

    Code:
    adb shell
    su
    mount -o remount,rw /system /system
    chmod 761 /system/xbin/su
    mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/xsu
    mv /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/app/XSuperuser.apk
