I couldn't agree more with you! I started browsing the forums after the Note 7 was announced and before any of us had the device in our hand it was a b**ch-fest about the curved screen, lack of RAM, lack of battery, and the list goes on and on. Then the device came out and it's been nothing but what you listed in your post!

I also had a bad battery problem when I upgraded at first, but I wasn't ready to ditch the phone and call Samsung to scream my head off. I asked a few questions here, did a factory reset and everything seems to be working as it should. I haven't heard many others complaining about the battery factory resetting, so maybe that's the key to a better battery experience.

If this is a legitimate issue then Samsung will recall devices and we'll all move forward. If you sit in a dark room and use the screen at full brightness and the "bleeding" bothers you, return the device and head to another section of the forums.
I dislike bullies. You are not a moderator so should either be constructive or be much less confrontational. I could take you to task over what you write but will not spend time on closed minds. Pleased your mobile is fine that's always good news to hear. :good:
FYI I fully intend to keep my note 7 even if I need to change it should it have a manufacturing fault. I find the device highly useful and rather ingenious.

I also dislike bullies, and was speaking out of frustration. It was in no way directed at anyone in particular, and was a comment on the status of the forums since the phone's announcement.

On the other hand, a couple of your posts in this very thread seem very condescending to the posters whom you quote and I don't like seeing that type of confrontational behavior. You've assumed once or twice that someone didn't read the entire thread, when they very well could have, given the responses they gave.

I apologize for voicing my opinion and will just smile and nod from now on.

I also have an aversion to people who profess to hate bullies yet are condescending and make asinine assumptions that people have "closed minds" predicated on their posts on an internet forum....

My Unit arrives tomorrow and if it does have this defect it will be getting returned immediately.

People do realize the defect is STILL visible with lowest brightness in a dark room............... Right?

Ignorance... Wow.

Oh crap, remember that few people claimed their phone cracked while in their pocket?

Could it be due to this because the glass isn't secured to the frame and putting pressure on it will result in it cracking?

I find it hard to empathize with being frustrated either about the light bleeding, or about the complaints about the light bleeding. Both strike me as inconsequential.

But I see no justification for describing the gap/bleeding as a "defect". I myself happen to like the effect (though I can barely notice it). If you don't, then I respect your different aesthetic preference. But if, for example, you don't like the Coral Blue, would you describe it as a "defect" just because you prefer a different shade of blue?

Some people in this thread have expressed apprehension about the light-bleeding with regard to water resistance. I wonder if that misconception explains the erroneous "defect" claim. The outer frame is not the phone's water-resistant boundary. Rather, there's an inner water-resistant seal. So the gap/bleeding is certainly not a "defect" in that regard.

I dont have a Note 7 (yet) but the light may be just some light seeping out of the side of the screen. As for the gap, I am not too concern about this unless it compromise the water resistance. There are a lot of phones out there (and other devices) where they have these small gaps. This is breathing space for when the material expands and contracts due to heating and cooling. If you look at how bridges are constructed, they have these gaps as well. I am pretty sure that the gap is there so that the frame and glass does not press against each other when you are out side, looking at your phone in the middle of summer under direct sun light.

Same problem here with the Black/Onyx. Coupled with the paint rubbing off all 4 sides, I am beginning to question Samsung quality.

I have the blue one , in a dark room , with reading glasses on I can see a very thin line of light , but cant tell if it is a leak , or reflection/refraction off of the glass . So I filled the sink up with water and let it soak for about 10 minutes , not problems , works fine.

Nice approach! At least someone's tested it now!!
