Just receieved my Omate TrueSmart developer edition. Thanks for your great work! :good:

Having Google apps makes this watch complete
Just wondering : Did the TrueSmart come with or without Google Play and Google Services ?
Everybody before, telling to wait till it arrives because we would be surprised (when complaining about this issue) made me wonder that it would actually would be installed.

Don't listen to anyone else but us for now. It does not come with it pre-installed, though there is a hidden file accessible through root privileges that has the services' apks.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong... The watch is recognised as USB storage and charges when plugged in. But when powered off, no activity in device manager and not recognised at all in the flash tool. Checked the connections, tried a multitude of cables and as I said everything else works... Any ideas?? :)

Press your watch into the casing a little until you hear the familiar beep. You'll hear it if side correctly. Make sure it's firmly seated.

You'll see it pop up under COM and LPT1 ports briefly as a preloader. It takes a few times but once you're done you never have to worry again.

Also use a good USB port, and only use that one port.

Nope... nothing :( Just lights up with the battery picture and not a thing from the laptop.
It's running Windows 7 64-bit if it makes any difference?
Tried on a desktop too, Windows 7 64-bit also though.

OK I disabled quick boot. Now the screen flashes up like the battery is empty (it's not), it briefly appears in device manager, then disconnects and shows the battery full and that's it..

OK It's working now! I just plugged it in while the flasher was running and waiting, now to root/mod! Thanks everyone!!

And now it's modded and rooted! Massive thank you again Loki and to everyone else that helped out too! :D Really happy!

How do you find the device?

I think the key was probably turning off quick boot

Yes indeed, I think that's what did it in the end. Though when actually coming to flash, I had to set the flasher to be searching and *then* plug the watch in. It was recognised and off it went.. Probably says that in the instructions knowing me ;)

I need to write a proper guide for that flashing part. I'm sadly still tied up with making the next release worthy of releasing.

Expect the next release to be more barebones. Pretty much if you can install it via Play Store or OStore it gets removed. Think of it as more Nexus and less Omate. This will give a nice base for other devs and a nice clean MOD/ROM that you make your own.

Still plan to use Smart Launcher though as my only embellishment. May even try to contact them about maybe making a smartwatch version.

I might write a guide soon, as I'm going to need to be VERY specific on my first release.

  1. Make sure you are running Omate_TrueSmart_Final SW_20131115 (if you are not the master zip can be found here)
I finally bought an AW-414 but want to flash the Omate ROM. I've got your master zip but don't know how to flash the rom.
Could you give any clues?

Thank you very much in advance! And thanks for all your effort!:good::good:

Finally I've got it, I'm testing the stock rom and seems to be really fluid. What a surprise it came with 4.2.2 as stock.
Will post a review once I get home.

I will put together a full guide but with a 1 month old and trying to fix the bloody firmware it's slow going. At most, I get 1-2hrs at a time to do anything, this includes things like battery life testing so please bear with me.

Til then, those that need to flash the TS firmware can follow THIS guide.

DL'd and extracted just fine for me. Redownload the zip or try using 7Zip.
