I recently got a pre-owned S9 and it works fine, but when I tried to update it, I got the message that "Your current software isn't supported"
The current version is
G960FXXU5CSF2 / G960FOBE5CSF2 / G960FXXU5ASF1
And the security patch is 1 June 2019.

I don't want it to be rooted. Can I get it back to normal?

You'll need to flash current stock firmware using Odin, once a device is running custom rom or rooted updates must be performed manually.

To get the firmware for your region faster you can use Frija:

Also the final version of Android 10 for S9 is due any day now so you could wait a while & install that or just update to it from 9
