I bought an Xiaomi Mi A1 and i have never been so stressed over a phone.

The wifi would not work. so I started to search for answers and found that I could by rooting it and unlocking bootloader. I followed the steps in this video (YOUTUBE watch?v=2wanENWhE9I) and now my phone will not turn on. It just sits there on the AndroidOne screen. I've been trying to get this phone to work for 2 days. Now I can't even use it as a device. I don't know what to do, I've never owned an Android before. I feel like i just wasted $200 on this phone and so much of my time. It's really stressing me out. I'm not even complaining about the data as everyone seems to do in the US. the wifi just doesn't work. but now I need to fix it so it will at least turn on.

If you want to stay stock just flash the latest official image with fastboot or miflash tool. You'll find guides for this here on XDA mi a1. Just read a bit.

If you can get into fastboot (Vol Down+ Power) you're in no trouble. Everything can be saved from there. All you have to do next is download mi flash, latest Rom from MIUI forums. Then flash it with mi flash while being in fastboot and your device should work as expected

Why would you root phone etc when your WiFi didn't work?

Why didn't you just turn it back if it was faulty since new?
