Please help! My USB port stopped working, no charge, pc access.

I have a mytouch 3g 36b and I installed the latest CM6 and everything was working fine, until my usb stopped charging, no usb connection to any pc. Everything else seems to be ok. I tried reflashing CM6 and even CM5, I went back the 1.6 hoping that would do it, but it doesnt work.

Am I screwed? What can I do? Please help someone.

Sounds like a hardware issue with your phones USB port. Try getting it fixed/replaced under warranty if you have one.

I got it to work, i unrooted and went back to 1.5 and the USB ports started to work again. This is not my phone so I am not going to bother messing with it any more, I will just let it update OTA and be done with it.

I had no problems with my phone.

Sorry to bring this back up from the dead, but I appear to have a similar issue. Although i know it is not your phone would it be possible in some way to obtain the misc.img from that phone or if you have a working magic?

I hear that some desires have some success in re-flashing a corrupted misc partition to fix a similar usb brick issue and I was wondering if I could do the same.

All you would need to do is type this in terminal

su
cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 > /sdcard/misc.img

and grab it off the sdcard
