Please help!! Need Help unlocking Too many pattern attempts!

I need urgent help please too many pattern attempts and my wifi is off plus i don't see a thing in recovery image just android with red triangle in his stomach and when i use RSD it goes back to too many pattern attempts!! Please help!!!

I believe pattern unlocks still require you to create a pin. So that in the event you somehow forget your pattern, you can use the pin. Is that not occuring?
