Hi Everybody!

I'm trying to port Android 7.0 Nougat to the HTC Desire 10 Pro from Elephone P9000. The CPU, GPU and many other specs are identical. Just see the remarkable similarity below : https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/bb08edbcd

I downloaded this RUU from this thread to be used as the stock/base ROM. It is a Android 6.0 Marshmallow stock ROM.
I extracted it to get system.img and boot.img using HTC RUU Decryption Tool

I downloaded the Elephone P9000 Android 7.0 Nougat ROM from this Elephone forum and extracted the boot.img and system.img

I then unpacked the boot.img files using Carliv Image Kitchen and ported the kernel and system as shown here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/mediatek-helio-p10-development-porting-t3664416
Then I packed the ported boot.img and system.img using Assayyed Kitchen into a TWRP flashable ZIP and flashed it using TWRP 3.10
It didnt work and started to bootloop on the HTC boot screen, not even going into the system.

Then I followed this guide to port the ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/guide-port-64-mtk-roms-t3555933
It didn't work either and the device is still in bootloop on the HTC boot screen, not even going into the system.

So I'm thinking the problem is with the ported boot.img and I really need some help figuring out what I'm doing wrong and how to correctly port the ROM.
Here are the unmodified boot images extracted from the stock ROMs.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LoFtnPckuilZhyAofPHEVgZ3g8uMyW07

Files in boot images.zip are
boot_stock.img - HTC Desire 10 Pro boot image
boot_port.img - Elephone P9000 boot image

Could somebody who is experienced in porting ROMs please help me port it ?
Or even better, extract the boot images and have a look at it ?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi
I would like to help anyway I can but unfortunately I'm not too knowledgeable with ROM development.
But I;m wondering if the bootloop is any way related SOFF? At what stage is encryption managed?

I guess I am one oth the few IDIOTS that bought this phone!

Not Qualcomm Chipset - no help?

I see Desire 10 Pro and Compact are NOT Qualcomm, while Desire 10 Lifestyle [nearly bough it ! AAAGH!] had Qualcomm

Story of my life ... no money and wrongly spent 'even after I checked everything BUT the Chipset - I trusted bloody HTC!
