All of a sudden, I have run into BT reception problems with my i9500.
I am a runner and using a BT headset as well as a BT heart rate belt. I have been using this phone for 2 years and I run almost daily without problems. BT headsets came and went due to lack of sweat resistance. I have been using the current combination since October 2014. Suddenly in mid of December, the headset started to stutter and disconnected/connected repeatedly with scattered music/voice transmission. It only works when I hold the phone in a distance of NOT MORE THAN 30CM!! I cross checked with the Note 2 of my wife and it works just fine up to a distance of around 5 or 6 meters.
As I am running CM11 at the moment, I thought that there was a problem since an update. Installed an older build, but still the same. So, I installed PAC-ROM (just to make sure with a clean install). Result is same. Final check was to flash an older Nandroid backup from September, with identical result. The headset is working fine with the Note 2 of my wife and also fine with my Notebook. The problem occurs also with the heart rate belt, disconnecting when I hold the phone at my arm, which worked fine always before.
So, it seems to be something wrong with my phone. What can this be? I don't use any metal bumper or case. If I take my plastic case off, it doesn't change anything.
Can somebody help me to address the problem? Anybody had the same problem?
Recognizing and pairing with BT devices is flawless. Only reception with more than a distance of 30cm results in scattered transmission and disconnections.
