Yes the icons are more oval than circle, it's stretched by just by a lil bit. I tried all the different res settings same issue. Do you have a photo of yours?
Are saying a picture of the android auto developer settings?

No the android auto window. I can take mine tomorrow when I drive. You can see clearly the icons are smooshed.

I was doing some more digging on the Linux based one and looking at the firmware file from a TF781 (mine is TF761 non aux version), it looks to be based of a lite version of openwrt OS. And list files for USB sound cards. Shoot I have the android 8.1, and non aux one might get that one to test 😅

Yea I got the one running Linux too, way much better then how far I could have gotten the paid reloaded to work. I only have one issue with the android auto on the Linux version, the resolution is not right and stretched, aspect ratio is wrong. I am a designer so this kind of things kill me I can't unsee it. I have let the seller know and they said they will fix it.
I have this one to, didn't even want dash cam so using full screen makes android auto look awful.
How do you even get to developer mode on this or is it aux socket?
Thanks

Was browsing around some articles in Korean an managed to understand a little bit more about this device.
  1. The OS seems to be Linux running on a ARM chip –ran "binwalk"
  2. It seems it has been built using OpenWRT Software
  3. For whatever reason, Korean keep appearing (?)

I run a command called “binwalk” from Homebrew that helps you identify the model. Used a prior firmware to look it up. Also, a developer told me is Android, not OpenWRT. Quite confused and intrigued as well haha.

    dear all,
i had brought this item https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003133318399.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.75414c4dKndpUI..however the left-hand side clock and the music player is annoying, is there any way to remove it and make the screen full?

Hi dude, how did you achieve it? Could you explain it please? Thank you!
Basically that's a nav bar and you want to hide it. There are two caveats to this, one is that you need download another nav bar app, I used swipe gestures. The second is that native apps like the back up camera will be cut off. I been trying to find a way to toggle between "full screen" and nav bar mode. The issue is the lack of access to permissions on this device. Anyways here is how I did it.

    1. You want to enable developer mode
    2. Then enable wireless adb and connect it to a terminal, you can do this on an external device but there is a way with terminal apps that allows you to do it internally.
    3. You want to run the command: "wm overscan -475,0,475,0" without the inverted commas, this is for full screen I tried different numbers and this was the best fit giving me full screen.
    4. If you want to get back to default use this command: "wm overscan 0,0,0,0" also without inverted commas and this will bring the hugeee nav bar with the music controls back. Without root I don't think I can replace that nav bar with a slimmer one.
Hope this works out well for you ☺️
