plugged into usb but not charging

Hi,

I got the Samsung Galaxy S 2.
everything is stock, no other rom updated.

I connected the phone with the stock usb to my PC(USB 2.0)
i was thinking to transfer files to the phone, but it was sitting there for 30 minutes without doing anything.
When i check the battery stat, it only increased from 69% to 70%. is it normal?

And i DO have battery drain issue.
Every 8 hours must be recharged.
I have clear the "software update" data but seems no difference at all.

I can't find any noticeable help for my battery issue. the only way to keep my battery running is not to use it.

Usb charging is slow on a stock rom with a stock kernel so that's normal

As far as battery drain use better battery stats from my sig to check what's holding wake locks and check using the settings about phone battery graph to see if it's sleeping.

Also depending on the rom, as older pre kg roms had problems and ke ones where quite bad depending

You have an old rom, see if you have an update via kies or you can flash a stock rom via odin, there's a good guide and list of all stock roms in the dev section.

As far as better battery stats goes, look at the wakelocks since charged and see what's at the top

Smells like wifi sharing eating battery life, your best bet is to update to a KG6 stock or custom rom as its been fixed in newer roms.

Download a program called Kies from de samsung website and install it than you can update your phone official or flasg via Odin

is it the one?
but this thing can only connect me using wifi to my PC.
Using my desktop to view my phone, i don't see any update function.

Under setting>about phone>software update
there is no update at all.

Kies can not upgrade firmwares thru Wi-Fi.

Samsung .com >>your phone >> software >>> Download Kies .
Install connect phone via Samsung USB cable update firmware .

Phone needs a mainboard USB port to work properly .

and the battery is way better than before
at the moment, still testing the new firmware.
