I'm having touchscreen issues on mine with or without screen protector.
Sometimes icons indicate I have pressed them but the app doesn't load, other times the screen simply doesn't register i've pressed the screen.
Knock code to turn the screen on works around 50% of the time.
Software version, UK Unlocked LMY47D, V10d-EUR-XX

I have problems only on tap to wake. Yesterday I tried zenfone 2 in the shop and it response much better than g4. Strange that lg is doing nothing about this problem...

Same. Touchscreen works perfect except for double tap to wake. So annoying. I don't understand how lg isn't addressing this issue, especially seeing as the power button is on the back and users rely on dt2w to work flawlessly.

With V10C I got no touch screen problem, since V10D I have so f****** annoying problem.
I had problem with V10B when I just got the phone, I updated to V10C works great, but V10D the problem came back in different way, so it's software !

I'd say it's software too. I get those issues every few weeks. After factory reset it works great again...for a few weeks, until I must reset again. I shouldn't have to keep resetting on a monthly basis.

For anyone having touchscreen issues, there is a simple fix:

system settings > accessibility > motor & cognition > touch feedback time > set it to medium or long

(note: this is for H815 international model as well as most others,
but some models will have "dexterity" instead of "motor & cognition")

I don't garantee this will help with all your touch screen problems,
but many people reported a lot less issues after tuning this option...
FYI, i have a Nillkin tempered glass (0.3mm) on top of my screen and
don't experience any issues whatsoever...

New to this thread.

It's highly likely it's software.

One good example of this is the Nexus 7 FHD 2013.

It was really unresponsive, to the point where I would not use it.

People started tearing into them and saying it was physical, reseat the cable, etc., and said it worked.

They lied.

I never touched mine, and once updates started rolling out, and 4.4.4 and 5.0 hit, it was like a new machine all together.

I just received an F-500L engineering sample LG G4, and it works great, still has the packaging plastic on the screen, I'll peel it off eventually and get tempered glass or a proper screen protector.

Unit shipped with Android 5.1 build LMY47D, software version F500Lx10d_us.

I'm pretty sure this is the latest and greatest until 6.0 comes out.

i think its when the phone is idle with screen off, it sometimes misses touches.

nothing to dramatic here...
probably will be different with android 6

I sent my phone to LG for a warranty fix & got it back today. I can say it works so much better than before. According to the included sheet, they replaced the touch chipset.

My first two phones had the issue. I got the first on release day and the second within two weeks of that. The second phone died last week and was replaced by warranty exchange. The new phone is about a week old and smooth as silk so far. I'm back in love with my G4 and no longer looking for a new phone.

Did the latest update not fix your touch issue? I haven't upgraded yet in hopes that our bootloader will be unlocked.
