serial number

there are those who thinks those phones whose serial number starts with 509 and below are the ones with problems.
my g4 has a serial starting with 510, no problems with touch, got a tempered glass installed.
i think you might want to check on this

Uh yea a lil clarification on this please lol I thought someone bad to bump a twrp img. to trick the LG bootloader into thinking its an official lg recovery with a locked boot loader.. Is it an official twrp? And I bet somehow it still won't work on a Verizon model I'm not that lucky

Actually I have seen more development for the h815 than the h811...I see a lot of posts from h811 devs who port roms that have been created for the h815. Also I just remembered that I also did OEM unlock before doing anything on my phone. Easy enough to do:
-Settings
-Phone Info
-Software
-Keep tapping on the build number until you get the message that the phone has been OEM unlocked.

10N base & rooted system img(h811 ONLY):

I haven't looked in verizon forums so you will have to browse them to see what options you have for rooting and twrp manager has the h815 version of twrp in its database.

If you don't already have twrp, download it from the twrp thread & flash it using flashify.

Nah unfortunately, unless I've somehow missed a big party, the Verizon model still has no twrp or especially a bootloader unlock, and I seriously doubt it ever will knowing the way Verizon is is or has been with some models for no apparent reason. But if it does get the same kind of love as your models have gotten sure it would at least be a good while until it happens. It will take some developers putting a lot of extra time into hacking that thing because I don't see Verizon letting up or LG but hopefully I'm wrong

Pressing the build number several times opens the developer options only, and not to unlock bootloader.

Can twrp be installed on locked bootloader?

Wait...what?? Did somebody actually tell you that's how you can unlock your bootloader?? Lol if so that was just plain damn mean and teasing you. And no you can't flash twrp with a locked bootloader unless someone bumps a twrp which would trick the LG bootloader into thinking its an LG recovery.. if you go and flash it with a lot bootloader you're going to end up in a boot loop that is not very fun to get out of

Sorry. I said OEM unlock which is basically unlocking the dev options. Didn't mean to imply that it was the same as unlocking the bootloader. However, on the h811, I never officially unlocked my bootloader. I flashed the rooted stock system img on my phone then the twrp restore image using the posts and no issues on my end.

---------- Post added at 05:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 PM ----------

I had been playing with custom roms at one point, but switched it back to full stock to send back to lg for repair on the touch issues. When I did that I went to the 10N base. It's harder to get twrp on the 10N base because you have to use flashify, which doesn't always work. i ended hacing to flash twrp for the h815 then flash the h811 twrp zip using twrp...wasn't ideal but it worked.

I frequently see this problem on Sprint, but it seems to occur mostly when the network changes - when I enter a wifi zone, when I enter a subway (dead zone), or just if it falls between LTE and 3G. I'm Rooted on UltraPop-1.42.

Here is one H815 international version with the stock 5.1 rom in it. I too have touch screen unresponsiveness as a problem with my device, I've owned the device for just over a week now, previously have had Samsung devices, latest was Note 3. None of them had _any_ issues regarding the responsiveness of the screen, and so far I've thought that this is just a feature of an LG device. But alas, it seems it just seems that it is the LG G4 that IS the problem.

- double tap wake doesn't register easily, you have to double tap several times
- while typing, you get really bad lag and miss letters if you write too fast with the device. This is ridiculous as it's a 2015 device, and was (still is?) the flagship of LG. Again, I had no issues with Samsung devices that I've had (i9000, i91000, i9300, GT-N7100, SM-N9005).
- I also did the factory screen test that pops up with the specific code, and on the edges the touch recognition is very bad. You have to glide your finger very slow and careful on the edge and most likely even then the screen won't recognize the touch.

This makes the device a pain to use. Wish I had not fallen through ice 2 weeks ago, I would have my Note 3 still functioning. :s

My G4 LGH812 was manufactured in December 2015, hardware revision is v1.0 and I had a pretty bad experience with the touch screen missing touches.
So bad that I was actually thinking of returning it just for this reason only.
I had 2 firmware updates installed so far, one OTA, the last one was the update to MM.
The touchscreen response has improved with both updates so now, with MM, I have no more issues with the touchscreen.
I saw someone advising to enable 'Show touches' in 'Developer Options' to alleviate the touchscreen problem and so I did.
Does it help? Can't say. Try it and see for yourself if it makes any difference.

Interestingly enough, we have a way to unlock the bootloader now for the H811, not sure if anything has been done for the other variants, but here is the thread to unlock the bootloader for the H811 if you want something to reference off:

Hi guys!

I've bought an G4 this year april and sadly ive got some touch screen issues.. Some weeks ago i've faced that my touch screen is not working all the time..: eg: when some1 called me the screen was unresponsive etc. 2 Days ago @ night i just charged my phone and next day morning the touch screen is dead. Its not responding to any touch, only the phisycal buttons are working. I've tryed a factory reset, but the same error occurs for me.
