A proper fix for the latest stock ROM updates can't be made until the latest kernel source is published by Motorola.

CM includes the fix for it for some time already, so if you want to get rid of it right now, switch to custom ROMs.

If you want to stay on stock ROM, you'll have to wait for the new stock kernel source release. As soon as it will become available, I'll upload the recompiled boot.img with the fix.
same for XT925 last KK update?

When do you think Motorola will make the new stock kernel source available so it can be modified for an updated fix??

I purchased a phone on eBay that has with this problem. I am currently unlocked, rooted and running 4.4.2 183.46.15.

Any new info on this? Did Motorola release the kernel source yet?

Hello kabaldan, is a kernel with this line out modification available for 183.46.15? I finally have root back, but still don't have an unlocked bootloader, I was thinking that maybe I could use the same process they used to achieve root to place the modified kernel into the device? Am I way off in my thinking? This popping has been driving me nuts since last summer.

Thank you,
Caleb

Just want to report that this fixed my popping audio issues. Thanks for sharing your time and fix.
I was looking around the forum for possible issues with KK.
In addition to this audio issue, I saw that the workaround for the WiFi tether issue.
Is there a thread listing all the known KK issues?
Has anyone here seen a stock based ROM that has the fixes for the known issues in it already?

My locked XT926M after update to KDA20.62-15 (182.46.15) appear awful noise in headspeaker. But now my phone lost power in screen (it starts, PC found it after connection, but no any image on a screen) and now it just a good brick:)
