No they have different chip sets. Mine when I query it says it is from 1997 I have only seen one other person mention having it. I think that is why different roms behave differently for different people.

Wow! I guess 1997 can't be a typo for 2007.

Were they even making chips for these things back then? (When did Jobs come up with the iPad?)

Amazing. When I was working as a production engineer, I'd see different vendor versions of an IC in our products. (Which sometimes caused failures, because on vendor didn't meet the slew rate spec for an OpAmp). But I never saw a completely different chip set, per se, for a product.

I wonder if yours was a prototype unit?

What tool did you use to query the chip set? (Or is this going to be an arcane Unix command that I'll have to run in Terminal? :) )

First thing I did when I bought my CPO a few weeks ago was to check the emmc chip for the (TRIM) brick bug. I have the MGA, but it was an Oct 2012 issue. (Sane.) As the HD+ was released in Nov 2012, the dates make sense. But 1997?

It is an arcane Unix command and 1997 is not a typo that is what it says. I am assuming that it is reading the date incorrectly myself. My old HD plus that I dropped had a different chip than this one but suffered sleep of death under CM11

I would love to see a PACman or rootbox 4.2 or 4.3 based rom. I run cm11 on my phone but on my tablets I hate having a split status bar/navbar. Plus I am a lefty so having my navigation buttons on the bottom left is best for me. I had to schizoid rom for my original nook color and loved it. It had all the customization I wanted. For example changing nav buttons in settings rather than using ninjamorph. And of course full tablet ui. That's just my 2 cents.
