I went into verizon and asked a rep and she said yes on the 10th

Yeah, but Verizon Reps say a lot of things!

But there has been no "official" word from Verizon, either directly or via a news organization...at least to my knowledge. I'm just saying that I wouldn't cancel my order unless i knew for sure they'd be available in store on the 10th. I'm not sure I'd risk canceling my order based on the word of a rep if by Wednesday there is no official announcement. They've just got me wondering why, if Verizon knows they're going to release them in-store on Thursday, why not say so by now? But trying to figure out VZW is a losing prospect anyway. lol

When we all pre-ordered, Verizon told us "WILL SHIP BY 10/10". That is the ONLY official shipping info we have. Getting upset or canceling your order because it's not gonna ship days before what we were originally told is ridiculous. Ever since I pre-ordered in early September (what feels like ages ago) I've accepted a ship date of 10/10. Any early is just a plus.

I'd agree Razortaz18...unless they make it available in-store on the 10th. When I placed my pre-order back on September 6th, I assumed that it would arrive at least the same day it was available in stores. I've pre-ordered three previous phones as a VZW customer and all of them arrived on or before the in-store release date. However, in each of those instances VZW had announced the in-store release date at least the weekend before. And for the record, I'm won't be upset because, as you pointed out, VZW hasn't broken any promises at this point. However, I will admit that I pre-ordered because I want to be one of the first to get my hands on the thing and if walking into the store will put it in my hands faster, then that's what I'm gonna do. I know...my wife hates that personality flaw too! lol

Hmm I still got in on the Preorder tho it said Backordered when I actually placed the order. Still saying its expected to ship by 10/10. I wonder if that will change for those who got in too late and ordered after it was on backorder...Guess we'll find out

Normally I LOVE picking on Verizon (absurdly low data caps, CEO seems a rube, tend to release the lower end options for Android devices, etc). In this case though they said the date is 10/10. As long as devices ship by 10/10, the pre-orders will not be listed in their system as back-ordered and their leadership will look squeaky clean as far as supply chain service level fulfillment. It is ALL a numbers game to Verizon leadership- perhaps more so than most other companies.

I guess I still ended up picking on them, but the point is they clearly stated "shipped by 10/10" for pre-orders. They did not say "delivered by 10/10", so how can 10/10 be defined as a promise date for delivery?

Added: BTW, seems vote options one and two are essentially the same, but worded differently. Option two should have probably been just "No".

No one defined 10/10 as a 'promise date for delivery'. However, most people believe that the Note 3 will be available for sale in stores on 10/10...even though there has been no official confirmation. Therefore, people who pre-ordered the device a month ago might have a 'reasonable expectation' that their order would ship early enough for them to have it in hand on or before the in-store release date...especially since that has been the case with every previous device offered via pre-order.

Option 1 is for people who pre-ordered so they could be the first to get their hands on it and had an expectation that they would receive their Note 3 on or before it's in-store release date. If it's not shipped by Tuesday, and expected in stores on Thursday, they might want to cancel their online orders and pick up the device Thursday in-store rather than wait until Friday (or later) for their online order to be delivered. Option 2 people are stating that they don't mind waiting until Monday to get their pre-order delivered to them...thus receiving their device four (4) full days after it's available in-stores. Of course that's all assuming that 10/10 is, in fact, the in-store release date.

However, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if pre-orders ship on Thursday (10/10) and arrive on Monday (10/14), followed by an in-store release date of next Thursday (10/17).

I will be out of my office next week and the office is closed on Sat. So if VZW ships two day on Thursday, I am screwed. Since I need to replace this Crapple by Sunday I will be canceling my pre-order if my phone hasn't shipped by 5:00pm EST on Tuesday. I will then pray that
I can pick one up at VZW or Best Buy on Thursday morning.

Doesn't make sense. 10/10 is a Thursday. Verizon releases on Thursdays. Many media outlets and VZW employees have said 10/10.

Why ship pre orders a week before in store release?

What will happen is that each store will have a set amount for launch on 10/10, and preorders will cover those who can't get to a store in time before they sell out.

LOL these posts are starting to get annoying! Ok don't shoot me here! haha but seriously people we all have options. Option one pre-order, sit at home and have your device delivered. No need to go to the store. Option two get your butts up, go to the store on the release day, hope they have them and get it. PERIOD! What's the whole big fuss about? I mean you can't wait couple of days to get your device? I'm probably one of the most impatient person when it comes to these things and I can honestly say I'm not that pressed about it. I knew it would ship the 10th when I ordered it and I still ordered it. No one lied and I had a choice!

Ok that's it. LOL. All that said I would be very happy if I did receive it by the 10th haha.

Well, my order somehow got cancelled without my knowledge a week after I preordered. I found this out last week, and called CS yesterday to verify it and have them try to figure out why it happened (no reason indicated in their system, so I'm thinking the guy who initiated my preorder messed it up somehow). So I have no preorder to cancel lol.

I will buy from whoever sells it first, whether it be Best Buy, or a VZW corporate store. They are next door to each other, so it makes little difference to me

I work for a retailer. If we promise an exact ship date we would never, ever ship early. If we did there's a strong chance that the credit card charges would fail. People are counting on Verizon shipping, and charging their credit card, on October 10th. Not a day sooner. Doing it sooner would be breaking a promise and not a good business tactic.
