Anyone here who reset his phone to factory and improved his battery with that??
Don't know if this could fix my problem, cause if I do reset the phone I will have to set it up again which would take a long time.
factory reset made mine worse ,
I thought it was going to work too but it was even worse
make it through the day with difficulty 12u battery life and 2.5 screen on time
eventually sold it and switched to a 1 + 11 and no regrets about the battery 3 days and 6.5 hours screen on time

If you use a backup a;pp like Swift Backup, do NOT restore anything except user apps and I do let Google restore my phone and SMS records, you can really do it all in about an hour or so.

The long part is moving all your photos, etc to a computer and back to your phone

I'm monitoring with accubattery and trying greenify but no luck yet.
No wonder your battery drains. Not a good idea to have something run in the background continuously, unless it is only for testing purposes.

I have even tried keeping the Smooth Display disabled/turned off (to prevent refresh rate being increased to 120 Hz)
I hope this is only a temporary change to save battery life. Otherwise what is the point of buying a premium phone and then set it up like a budget phone.

Just read about the battery drain on a Blog and that it is known by google.
There was also a hint on how to temporaily solve the problem.
You have to disable the System App "Adaptive connecitvity service" via your Options - Apps - three dots - show system apps.
I will give i a try and write you tomorrow

As I told above:
Yesterday I set the option Adaptive Contection to "off" and disabled the App in my Options (Need to show System apps to find it).
Now my battery drain over night was 20%, which is 15% over normal before march update, but is 15% lower then before disabling Option and app.
Maybe sombody else could try and have luck with it.
April update hopefully solves the problem fully. Will reset my phone before the update and update then to have it back to normal battery drain. Till then I hope I can live with a bit higher consumption as it is now "OK" for me to get over the day.

As I posted in the other thread, there may be something to this as I disabled it yesterday and my battery life today has been much, much better. Taking it off the charger at 97%, six hours later with a lot of streaming SiriusXM, emails and phone calls, which I get a lot of phone calls with my job and, I’m at 81%. Before yesterday I would probably be at 20% lower give or take.

Any app that has to run continuously in the background will consume battery, CPU cycles, and use hardware resources to perform it's function.
You said battery drain.

Of course that anything is running in the background, both system or user, consumes resources. But AccuBattery really doesn't have a significant hit on battery like you implied.

Apps often use system resources in a way that you can't trace it to them.

Unless you have installed it temporarily for testing purposes, there is no point in letting an app run continuously that consumes resources to give you information that is mostly 'eye candy'.

Man.. I'm using AccuBattery for at least 4-5 years already on multiple devices. Never had an issue with battery life because of this app. Always running in the background.
It's very good to keep track of cycles, battery usage over time, deep sleep, battery charge alarm (I set it at 80%), etc etc.

Again.. battery impact is minimal.

Battery impact is minimal. Thousand millions of people use these battery tracking apps. They're not resource intensive and there's a difference between giving resources to something you want or need vs something that is needlessly or unwantedly using resources in the background like GMS sending location info every 15 seconds or the messaging app checking for messages every 30 seconds.

You are right. @TheMystic, I'm not sure what you're arguing. This is a silly argument. This thread is being detailed by you arguing accubattery and similar apps are causing battery drain when a large percentage of people here use the app and have been for years. It's silly. I suggest you go to the accubattery thread with your concerns if you feel they're legitimate. Tell the dev his app uses too many resources and is causing only the pixel 7 series and no other phone to have bad idle drain.

i really dont know what people are doing with their pixel phone.
iam using it daily pretty often at work for 2fa, chatting etc. After 12hrs usage iam usually over 50%.
Iam also using also virus scanner and endpoint protection on it. 1440p. GPS on, Bluetooth on for my Pixel Watch. Actually iam pretty surprised how well the battery is.
7am - 5pm = 68% Battery

What's your screen on time over the 7a-5p time span? Are u using smooth display (120Hz) too? But ya, at face value it looks like you're getting pretty good results. Are you in excellent cell coverage during that time? Are you using any battery monitoring apps that can provide more granular detail like BBS or accubattery?

Yeah I would love to know your exact settings because my battery definitely could be better

My screen on time was about 3h. I also did a walk at my lunch break with GPS tracking for 45 mins. No 120hz, no auto rotate, iam using 1440p, excellent cell coverage. Normally i would recommend people to just use 4G in my country(Germany) cause the 5G is kinda fake, and rarely is faster than 4G. But since i never had any batterie issues, iam using 5G. I am also using the option intelligent battery (not sure if i translated the option correctly). I dont have any battery monitoring apps. I also had the feeling that the pixel drained the battery way faster the first week than now. Maybe because of the battery option mentioned. Edit: i also heard about 1hrs music with Buds EditEdit: and of course iam dark mode User😜

Yeah it seems like you're having pretty good luck. I have smooth display (120 hz) just for the fact that I thought if I was purchasing a premium phone I need to use the premium features. I have read that without it on SOT extends considerably by about 1hr per charge. Without mine on tho I sometimes have a line flash across the screen about ⅓ down the screen. I traded in a previous p7p because I worried that could be indicative of a failing screen. This one has it too in the exact same place so I am thinking and hoping it's software related particularly software related to the GPU. I say this just to explain why I can't turn 120Hz off.

Just adding my experience... Battery life was fair-to-good on my 7 Pro. I typically had around 25% by end of day. That was until the March update. Now, battery life is wretched. Mine drops 15% - 20% after just checking a few emails. I now have to recharge 2-3 times/day depending on the workload.

Got the pro delivered today. Ive noticed battery life is quite poor. Dropping 5-10% every 30 mins or so. Battery usage seems to suggest the google app is using about 25% of the battery. Usage is nothing over the top. Coming from a pixel 5 with excellent battery
Dude it's your first setup and install. Give it a day or two. Normal. I have used the 7 and 7 pro now for 3 weeks which is great.

Do my texts in Google Messages restore to my device after I factory reset? If I don't choose to restore them, am I starting over and losing all of my text messages on my current phone? That is literally the only thing that I care about moving to my new phone, aside from everything else that is backed up in the cloud.
SMS Backup and Restore from the Play Store is your friend.

Good to see I'm not the only one with good battery, I thought I was going to have to start disliking the phone because everyone else did. That's how it works, isn't it?

OK. I'm cautious that some members may throw a tantrum if I say another thing positive about this phone, but here goes.

Currently on 26% battery, 4G been on all day, no WiFi, Surfshark VPN used for at least an hour, around 30 minutes of Whatsapp calls, browsing, a bit of Youtube, my Huawei Watch GT2 connected through Bluetooth all day and about 15 minutes of phone calls. A total of 6 hours 12 minutes SOT.

I either work for Google and I'm lying, or the battery life on MY HANDSET AT LEAST is absolutely fantastic.
