I have the unlocked version using Verizon. Getting indoor reception issues as well and I have to toggle airplane mode on and off to send sms. My Pixel 3 worked flawlessly indoors. Does anyone notice an improvement flashing the Verizon firmware to the device to an unlocked model?

I got the same issue with signal on my unlocked note 10 plus on T-mobile network compare to the pixel 2 xl since launch until yesterday. After update yesterday, the signal was really stable and a lot more bars. Speed test also improved big time after the September update.

Good to know the update came out. I checked yesterday and there wasn't anything new. Downloading the update now and I'll test it out.

Several months and software updates later, and I'm still noticing sporadic performance on the Verizon Note 10+. It seems the antenna is very finicky indoors when compared to the Note 9. In large buildings and homes, reception swings about 10-15 db depending on how the phone is held and whether or not it's near a window. I live in a fringe area and it's usually reading about -104 db but when I get choppy calls, it's at -116 to -118 db. The Note 9 was noticeably more consistent and never dropped below -112 db. The only other possibility, and I'm unable to confirm, is that the Note 10+ is using those new Verizon bands 46 and 48, where the Note 9 is only on the stable band 13. Data performance isn't affected as much as it seems overall faster but calls and text have issues. I can almost say without a doubt that the Note 10+ has worse reception than the Note 9. I've just had to use Wi-Fi calling for now.

It really is a shame as the Note 10+ camera and screen are so much better than the Note 9.

Have you tried a network reset (you have to re-enter WiFi & setup BT again) or maybe you need a new SIM card? Maybe even a defective phone?

Got a new SIM card, reset network connections multiple times, and have been testing LTE/CDMA mode vs Global. Like I said it's mostly affecting calls, not really data and isn't a HUGE problem but that 3-5 db difference is noticeable indoors. Given the dozens of reports on Samsung forums, one has to wonder if the 10 series has an inferior antenna.

So I setup my new Note 10+ Verizon Blue model and the first call I got at home, the other party mentioned that my phone sounded garbled. I went to make a few test calls, and every other one dropped. Websites would time out before loading unless I was on Wi-Fi. Speed tests gave me latency errors and 0 upload speed. Outdoors, the phone works great, but indoor reception and even when held a certain way causes a fast drop in signal. I moved the SIM card back to my Note 9 to compare the signal and here's what I found.

Note 9: -99 dBm to -106 dbm 29-35 asu (loads websites just fine and calls immediately go through)
Note 10+: -106 dBm to -116 dBm 99 asu (loads websites after 10+ seconds or they timeout, calls take 10-20 seconds to connect)

Apparently the 99 asu means that the signal is too weak calculate usability. Technical support spent over an hour with me testing every possible solution, even activating another SIM card. Either there is a very serious problem with the towers, and/or the Note 10+ has poor signal compared to the Note 9. Hopefully, it's not the latter because the phone is amazing and faster in every other way. Has anyone else noticed weaker signal?
I'm using the note 10+ unlocked. With my companys verizon sim card. Seems to work better then my note 8 ever did. I get signal in basements I would have never dreamt of before. I'm a traveling water softener tech in michigan. And get sent to owosso area (boonies) quite a bit. And I swear my service has never been better.
