Hello,

The application doesn't work on my Xperia Pro I. Has anyone been able to get it to work on this device?

Do you also know if there is a way to install the Samsung application?

After struggling for a good minute i realized you are supposed to make a new folder in Android/obb.

Name the new folder this.
com.sonymobile.scan3d
Then add the obb file to the folder.

I'm new to this kind of apk/obb files so im still learning even if its obvious lol, hope it works for y'all.

The app works fine for my phone as far as creating the model goes however, i cant get past the initial creation (the features to improve the model, etc are unavailable for me) because i cant login. When i try to login the app will juat tell me there is an error and to trt again later. Is there a way to fix this or anything I can do about this. I love this app and am getting decent scans and models but i would like the ability to take them one step farther. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sony has disabled the online function. They abandoned the service and the app.

I've also had issues with the app crashing during sculpting. I've managed, however, to fix this by an additional modification of the libScan3D.so. If people are interested, please let me know.

I also managed to apply the all-device patch + fix on the latest (?) version, which I think is 2.0.A.0.38. There is also a hidden menu which brings some additional options, such as scanning with the light on, choose focus, white balance, etc.

In my opinion this is the best 3D (small) object scanning app, much better and faster than the Samsung-provided 3D scanner app. This is at least on my Samsung S20 ultra...

I realized that the version I posted is actually old... There is a new version out there (v. 3.0.A.0.36) which seems to work better :).

I will test a bit and post here.

Btw., regarding the new version, apart from better/smoother surfaces, we may get the chance to choose different (Sony) cameras and play with camera calibration...

Ok, uploaded latest version I have. Link here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5y486exfq1mnt9i/3D_Creator_3.0.A.0.36_patched_fixed.apk?dl=0

- Applied patch from this thread + fix to address the random crashing when sculpting the model.
- To enable debug menu press 5 times on the software version in the settings menu.
- If you enable debug buttons in debug menu you can press volume down during scanning to bring out an info/status screen. Volume up skips to next stage when sculpting is active.
- Unfortunately, the device setting (Sony device model) does not influence the camera settings used inside the app. So, it's not much we can do to influence the camera settings, besides the options from the debug menu.
- You also need to install the obb file (see file main.6291488.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb from first page of this thread), rename it to main.6291492.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb and upload it to /sdcard/Android/obb/com.sonymobile.scan3d/.
- Surface smoothness seems to be improved compared to the previous version.
- TODO: I still want to investigate some options regarding camera calibration. If I find something useful, I'll post here.

Till then, have fun!

EDIT: Btw., if anyone has an even newer version, please let me know.

Hi,

Thanks for your last file.

But I have a problem, either in the inter memory or in my sdcard I don't have a directory com.sonymobile.scan3d/

Where to put the .obb file?

Thanks

Have a look at the three steps on the first page. Basically, in /sdcard/Android/obb/ create a folder named com.sonymobile.scan3d. Inside it copy the file main.6291492.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb.

Tried installing the new 36 version but I get an error saying: Can't open file. The 32 version installed fine (though after creating the OBB folder, and getting the OBB file copied there, app would immediately crash upon opening).

If I create the folder in the sdcard it doesn't work see screenshot.

if I put the folder in the internal memory the program crashes but gives me the same notification as the first case.

    Sony 3D Creator Port

Updates for Sony 3D Creator port, based on nullbytepl's work.
I will build new versions if they come available, please message me if I do not notice an update.

    App Description:
Discover groundbreaking innovation with 3D Creator
Capture your world in 3D straight from your smartphone and turn people and objects into high-resolution 3D models. Make 3D memories, share them with friends or have them printed – the possibilities are endless.

    A breakthrough in mobile creativity
There are five scanning modes: selfie, face, head, food and freeform. Depending on what you want to scan, the app will guide you to make a great scan.

    Features:
    * Share your model on social media
    * Animate your models
    * Blend the faces of two models together in our new face blend tool
    * Make 3D models mimic your facial expressions
    * Turn your model into a cyborg or play with other 3D props
    * Print your models on your own printer
    * Bring your scans to life as 3D avatars using AR (Augmented Reality) in the camera
    * Use your model as a Live wallpaper
    * Enhance the model with photo adjustments and cropping, or get creative and play with the morph tool in the Editor.
    * Keep your models safe with online backup

    Requirements:

    1. Android 8.0+
    2. Decent cpu/gpu (recent mid-range chips should be enough)
    3. OpenCL and Camera2 API support (check with this)
    4. ARM64 device (Sony doesn't include libs for other archs)

    Instructions:

Note: This app is signed with my certificate, so it is not compatible with other versions. Backup your data and remove any other Sony3D Creator version before installation.
All updates get signed with the same cert, you can install future versions without removing the app.

    1. Download apk & obb
    2. Install apk
    3. Copy obb file to Android/obb/com.sonymobile.scan3d/ on Internal Storage
Note: obb file needs to be named main.VERSION_CODE.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb. I always upload the obb files named properly.

    Versions:

    - 3.0.A.0.32 (Version Code: 6291488)

    - 3.0.A.0.30 (Version Code: 6291486)

    Credits:

    - nullbytepl for the first version and mod instructions, please donate to him here.

ok I managed to get the 3.0.A.0.32 Version working... just download obb from 3.0.A.0.30 Version and rename it to match 3.0.A.0.32 Version Code which is 6291488 so (main.6291486.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb) become (main.6291488.com.sonymobile.scan3d.obb) and you are done .
