Can anyone work on this to get it working with the new Desire HD rom that is out now? This was probably my favorite keyboard and I'm hating life without it.

it may be possible that your keyboard is called GoogleLatinIme.apk instead of LatinIME.apk (i wouldnt know because i havent used that rom) search in /system/app for something with LatinIme in its name and replace that file with the apk from the op (dont forget the lib!)
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I got this working on my incredible using the MiUI ROM v.02. Did it using the manual (old) method.
Not bad so far, but for some reason the letters on the keys are really small. Not a big prob for me as I know where the keys are, but for anyone that has a hard time seeing small fonts, this may be a problem.
Update: getting a FC when trying to bring up the keyboard in landscape mode.

try using kaos's keyboard linked in the op, its a better port than mine.
fwiw landscape mode working fine here in redemption
Got kaos's installed and same thing, FC on landscape. Must be the MiUI rom, anyone hear of this working on MiUI at all?
Either way, good stuff, just have to text non-landscape till I can find an alternative.

Everything on the keyboard seems to be working, other than the size of the letters on the individuals keys are EXTREMELY small! Cannot read without my glasses. Is anyone else having this problem on their Incredible? Is there something that can be done to correct?
No one but me having problems with the size of letters on keyboard? They are literally so small that if I can't get a fix, I'll have to uninstall. I even uninstalled/reinstalled and have same problem. Can barely read letters with glasses on! Thanks in advance for a quick solution.
They are very small on the MIUI.
I am now using the Droid X port keyboard found here. The font is still very small, but there's no FC's going to landscape

I'm running this on MIUI v0.2+1.2 patch without any issues other than the small font. No FC's in portrait or landscape.
Installing on my mom's non rooted incredible worked fine. Just browsed the .zip with astro and installed the LatinIME.apk through app manager.

Im rlly srry, but this doesn't make any sense. I have an unrooted samsung vibrant that i would like to stay unrooted with the latest software and want to put the droid 2 keyboard on it. Rite now i have 2.1 but within a month i will have 2.2. I need a keyboard fro 2.2 but if it worked with 2.1 also that would b better. It must be a droid x or 2 keyboard, preferably d2. Can some1 plz help???
After searching this whole thread, I have seen no fix for the only problem I have with this keyboard (unless I missed it somehow :/ )
Anywho, my only problem is that when I am typing using the symbols (any of them really, but an example is ^ ), if I have a space before the symbol, it automatically puts the symbol back at the word. this is very irritating to me, as usually, I meant to have the space there. Is there anyway to disable this, or would I have to take apart the whole .apk to figure this out?

If I type: This is an example ^
Then I press space, or any other character again, it becomes: This is an example^ _ (the space is still added...just in the wrong spot.)

That's actually part of Android, the normal keyboard in froyo does exactly the same, if you want it off, your going to have to turn off auto punctuation (yes, space is a form of puntuation). The option is under Menu>Setting>languages & keyboard> Android Keyboard> Quick Fixes. Enjoy!~ As far as my question: what information do you guys need for fixing the Alt on droid 1's hard keyboard?

Hi how did u add german language? I nedd italian one but I dont know where to find and how to add!
I can't get it to work. Flashed the ZIP with recovery and then I went to setting, but when i want to typ something I long-press that space so I can choose the key-board i want, I select the Multi-touch keyboard but then the keyboard won't show up.
